The Risk Management Coordinator is an entry-level role supporting and coordinating risk mitigation efforts across the health center. This position facilitates compliance investigations, incident tracking, and quality of care reviews, working closely with various departments to identify potential risks and assist in implementing strategies that reduce liability and protect organizational assets. The Coordinator ensures all activities are conducted with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
In this role, you will:
Coordinate and support investigations of reported compliance incidents, quality of care concerns, HIPAA violations, and customer complaints.
Monitor and maintain records of incidents, accidents, and unusual occurrences, including patient or associate injuries, privacy violations, and emergency responses.
Assist in drafting and updating policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to risk management activities.
Maintain and update databases used to collect and analyze incident and quality of care data for reporting purposes.
Facilitate and document root-cause analysis and failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) activities in collaboration with relevant teams.
Support the development and tracking of remediation plans and performance improvement initiatives.
Provide regular updates to your supervisor regarding work progress, emerging issues, and opportunities for improvement.
Coordinate communication with insurance providers regarding risk-related cases.
Offer technical assistance to managers and supervisors in applying risk management protocols and health center policies.
Collaborate with teams to help resolve issues and contribute to effective problem-solving.
Perform other coordination-related duties as assigned.
Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Behavior, or equivalent experience (minimum five years).
Experience working in a healthcare setting.
Familiarity with risk management practices.
Working knowledge of HIPAA and state privacy regulations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and approachable demeanor.

Key Responsibilities
Revenue Cycle Leadership & Strategy
Develop and implement a comprehensive revenue cycle strategy that supports organizational goals, financial sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
Lead revenue cycle activities, including patient access, registration, coding, claims management, and collections.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency across the revenue cycle.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and workflow optimization.
Ensure appropriate processes and workflows to facilitate accurate capture of patient insurance coverage and opportunities for expedient patient enrollment in insurance plans patients qualify for.
Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
Ensure all revenue cycle operations comply with federal and state laws, including HIPAA, CMS guidelines, HRSA requirements, and payer-specific regulations.
Maintain current knowledge of billing and coding standards for medical, dental, and behavioral health services.
Oversee internal audits and implement corrective action plans as needed.
Financial Management
Monitor accounts receivable performance, denial rates, and cash flow; implement strategies to reduce write-offs and improve collections.
Evaluate payer contracts and reimbursement methodologies; provide recommendations to leadership. Collaborate with the CFO and finance team to forecast revenue, analyze trends, and support budgeting processes.
Team Development & Leadership
Supervise, mentor, and develop revenue cycle staff, including managers and supervisors.
Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and high performance.
Ensure adequate staffing, training, and professional development across all revenue cycle functions.
CrossâFunctional Collaboration
Work closely with clinical operations, IT, compliance, and quality teams to ensure accurate documentation, coding integrity, and efficient workflows.
Partner with the EHR/EMR team to optimize system functionality, reporting, and data integrity.
Serve as a key resource for leadership regarding revenue cycle performance and operational impacts.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive revenue cycle experience in a healthcare setting.
Minimum of 2 years in a leadership or management role.
Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding, payer rules, and reimbursement methodologies.
Demonstrated experience with EHR/EMR systems and revenue cycle technology.
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred
Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field.
Experience in an FQHC, community health center, or nonprofit healthcare environment.
Professional certifications such as CRCR, CPC, CPB, or HFMA credentials.
Work Environment

Job Description
Phlebotomist
Join our dedicated laboratory services team at University Health, where your precision and compassion directly impact patient care. As a Phlebotomist, you'll be a crucial part of the diagnostic process-performing blood draws, test ordering, equipment maintenance, and supporting clerical operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform phlebotomy procedures on patients of all ages
* Process test orders and schedule procedures with accuracy and urgency
* Support laboratory operations, including equipment cleaning, supply ordering, and clerical tasks
* Respond to STAT orders and urgent collection requests as needed
* Rotate into courier and hybrid roles as needed to ensure seamless lab operations
* Maintain flexibility to support varying workload and shift demands
* Deliver exceptional service in accordance with infection control and safety standards
Required Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Demonstrated skills in clerical, computer, and office practices, including troubleshooting
* Strong verbal communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients
* Understanding of human development and ability to work effectively with patients across all life stages
* Proficiency with electronic test ordering and result retrieval
* Physical ability to:
* Walk long distances and stand for extended periods
* Lean over bedsides to draw blood
* Carry phlebotomy trays and lift full gallon containers
* Willingness to work variable shifts, including weekends and holidays
* Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
* Knowledge of hospital operations, laboratory support roles, and adult learning principles
Preferred Qualifications:
* Phlebotomy certification and/or completion of a medical terminology course
* Experience in courier services or hybrid lab/phlebotomy roles
* Previous experience in a healthcare or lab environment

Job Description
Histology Technician (Mohs Lab)
Location: UH-Truman Medical Center | Department: Pathology / Mohs Surgery
Join our collaborative pathology team and play a vital role in supporting high-quality patient care. The Histology Technician is responsible for embedding, staining, sectioning, and cover slipping histologic and Mohs specimens. You'll work closely with Pathologists, Dermatopathologists, and Mohs surgeons to ensure accurate, timely, and reliable slide results.
What You'll Do
* Perform embedding, sectioning, staining, and cover slipping of histologic and Mohs specimens
* Collaborate with Pathologists, Dermatopathologists, and Mohs surgeons to deliver high-quality results
* Maintain accuracy and efficiency while working independently
* Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and quality standards
Minimum Requirements
* Associate's degree with 60 college credits (including 6 biology, 6 chemistry, and 12 science credits such as chemistry, biology, physics, or microbiology)
* 3 months of supervised training in the field
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to stand for extended periods, prioritize tasks, and problem-solve independently
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
* Excellent organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in a science-related field
* Certification as a Histology Technician (ASCP)
* Eligibility to obtain ASMS certification within one year
* Documented laboratory training in a Mohs lab
