What we do The Vision and Robotics team is dedicated to developing, deploying, and maintaining advanced vision and robotics solutions for our warehouse automation systems. By leveraging our inbound and outbound adapter cells-which connect the storage structure and handle tasks such as depalletizing, singulating cases, and palletizing shipments-we ensure efficient processing and seamless integration with our autonomous robots (Symbots) and AI-powered software. The adapter cells hand over cases to the Symbots, who then place the cases into the storage structure and retrieve them when needed for palletization. Our proven track record in industrial vision and robotics system development, combined with best engineering practices, allows us to continuously push the limits of warehouse automation technology. What you'll need * Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree (Ph.D. is a plus) in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. This includes, but is not limited to, review of as-built documents and equipment submittals, leading Factory Witness Testing (FWT) when applicable, and managing third-party commissioning vendors in the performance of onsite functional and integrated systems testing. Following the AWS project reporting format, you will be responsible for regular reporting of retro commissioning progress and metrics of assigned projects to your Regional Commissioning Manager. You will have the opportunity to lead several projects simultaneously to achieve key milestones and deliver optimized data center performance, while managing project budget as approved by Finance. A day in the life On a typical retro commissioning project, the CxE works across AWS engineering, operations, and contractor teams to coordinate site activities in operational data centers, prioritize tasks, and ensure each issue has clear path to resolution with minimal impact to operations. The CxE manages the project commissioning vendor whose primary scope is to execute functional tests on existing systems, identify optimization opportunities, determine criticality, propose solutions, and document their findings. The CxE coordinates closely with operations teams to schedule work during appropriate maintenance windows. If project completion is at risk, the CxE escalates to the appropriate stakeholders.
