What we need
The Technical Control Engineer will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of the Symbotic system at our client's site. The ideal candidate will handle incoming technical requests from end-users, prioritize issues, document solutions, and actively engage in resolving technical problems related to the operations.
We are currently looking for Technical Control Engineers that are available to work the following shifts (EST):
Weekday Night Monday - Thursday 8pm - 6am EST
What we do
The Technical Control Engineer is part of the Service Operations Organization organization that partners with cross functional teams to troubleshoot, prioritize, document and actively resolve or escalate end user help requests & site system issues. They are a key partner in resolving site alarms and escalating issues impacting our robotics systems to other SME within Symbotic.
What you'll do
Document resolutions and implement data-driven strategies to prevent future issues.
Handle complex technical requests from end-users through ticketing systems, email, and chat support, with follow-up evaluations after resolving requests.
Manage incoming help requests via phone, email, and chat, providing remote assistance to site teams for advanced electro-mechanical issues using remote support tools.
Troubleshoot and resolve advanced software, networking, and scripting issues.
Diagnose hardware problems related to automation systems, robots, PLCs, motors, VFDs, and other components.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including SOPs and knowledge base articles, for internal and external use.
Support ongoing system maintenance tasks, including data backups, trend analysis, and I/O checks.
Serve as an escalation point during major incidents, coordinating cross-functional teams and providing timely updates.
Stay current on relevant software and hardware supported by the organization.
Test solutions to ensure full resolution of issues and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) processes.
Interpret schematics, OEM manuals, and user guides to diagnose issues with systems integrated with Symbotic equipment.
Respond promptly to equipment downtime, coordinating external resources when necessary for swift resolution.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent experience in industrial automation or robotics may substitute.
Minimum of 2 years in technical support with supporting complex technologies.
Hands-on field/industry experience preferred.
Remote system support (Remote Desktop, SSH, etc.) with an expertise in TCP/IP networks, protocols, and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with packet sniffers, network probes, and command line tools.
Linux shell and scripting skills, plus proficient in SQL scripting and application support.
Knowledge of ISC DHCP, BIND, and server BIND configuration.
Motion control expertise (servos, VFDs), Allen Bradley ControlLogix, and programming languages (Ladder Logic, C, Scripting).
Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and collaboration abilities.
Experience with server management, Active Directory, Windows, and Linux patching.
Background in warehouse/supply chain environments, automation, or robotics.
Ability to prioritize tasks in high-pressure, fast-paced customer-facing environments.

Up to 10% travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.

The Building Automation Controls Engineer will lead projects, provide design expertise, and help us provide our clients with innovative HVAC solutions. This position will play a pivotal part in providing meticulously crafted engineered drawings for HVAC control systems and/or protective systems such as access control, camera systems, fire alarms, and intrusion detection. This position will review specifications and contract drawings for assigned projects. Provide accurate drawings for HVAC control systems and schematics using AutoCAD and/or Visio. Have the ability to size control valves, dampers, air flow stations, and the like for HVAC systems. Be able to write and understand the sequence of operations for HVAC control systems, along with assembling submittals and O&Ms for projects.
What are we looking for:
Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or other STEM field with 1-3 years' experience in relevant field.
3+ years' experience in relevant field.
3+ years' experience using AutoCAD and/or Visio.
Sound knowledge in electrical circuits, HVAC and controls required.
Understanding of advanced hydronic and duct work systems required.
Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Office Suite required.

Milacron is looking for an Automation Controls Engineer to join our team in Batavia, OH. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and testing of control system software for new product development. To be successful you will need to understand how control and machine interact to produce parts. It is helpful to have experience in robotic software development for machine logic and machine motion/server control. The Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) includes implementation of new features on existing control platforms. This requires understanding and following the existing control architecture and associated style guides.
Work You'll Do:
To accomplish this, you will need to have experience in developing web-based frontend via Javascript, C# and HTML. This includes development on legacy system using Qt. The backend machine control is a PLC development environment.
Team:
You'll work with a global team of developers to gain not only an understanding of the software system but also how injection molding machines and plastic extrusion machines work for our customers. The team will be there to mentor you, identify training opportunities and guide you through your initial tasking.
Basic Qualifications:
Understanding of the machine logic using C, C++ for motion and process control.
Successfully working with a team of developers that produces and maintains a product.
Minimum of a Bachelor's engineering degree (Mechatronics' EE, CE, CM, or related major).
Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years of Software development experience with a focus on web development. Languages include C, C# and JavaScript.
PLC development experience developing in C with PLC function blocks and/or structure text.
Experience with developing motion control software and robotic automation.
Experience with B&R Automation Studio and/or Beckhoff Twin CAT 3 a plus.
Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic prints.
