Analog / Mixed Signal Design Intern
Role Overview:
The intern will support MACOM's Hillsboro, Oregon Analog / Mixed Signal Design team in design of next generation circuits for optical communications.
This Internship with MACOM will help the Intern to gain valuable work experience in a key discipline, build professional relationships, and take ownership of a business-critical project.
During the 12 weeks each Intern will:
> Be given an individual and well-defined project with set outcome goals
> Gain hands on experience
> Receive excellent training and ongoing supervision
> Be invited to attend an intern webinar series
> Attend networking/social events
> Attend and present at Poster Session about each Interns project successes and pitfalls
> Receive formal, written feedback
Requirements:
Candidate must be presently pursuing MSEE or PhD in Analog / Mixed Signal design
Prerequisite Skills and Experience:
* Good planning and organizational skills
* Good interpersonal and communications skills
* Good problem-solving and analytical skills
* Ability to work well in a team environment
Additional Desirable Skills:
* Experience with Cadence Virtuoso and Spectre design tools is a plus

Our summer internship program gives current students the chance to make an impact by contributing ideas and adding a fresh perspective to real client projects. All while receiving one-on-one mentoring from a full-time Product Design team member to ensure you are advancing in your craft. Not only that, but you'll have snacks galore, and plenty of chances to socialize with your fellow interns - including fun outings during work hours. We'll have you with us full-time (think 40 hours a week for approx. 11 weeks) and yes, it is definitely paid. Not a bad gig, right?

Strong understanding of typography, layout and basic design principles
Motion design experience

Electronic Design Intern
Role Overview:
The RF Design Engineering Intern will work on the design, assembly, and testing of RF Power pallets and modules. This will include PCB layout, hands-on soldering of test fixture, and utilizing RF test equipment to characterize various circuits. Additional engineering activity will include data analysis, exposure to GaN device technology, and manufacturing design.
This position is located at MACOM's Morrisville, NC office.
During the 12 weeks each Intern will:

Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or similar.
Prerequisite Skills and Experience:
* Familiarity with RF test equipment (network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
* Basic understanding of s-parameters, gain, amplification, etc.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail orientated.
* Interest in learning new skills and willingness to tackle new problems.
Additional Desirable Skills:
* Drafting (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
* PCB Layout (Altium)
* EDA Software (ADS, AWR Microwave Office)
* Soldering
* Familiarity with GaN devices and semiconductor physics
