Mercury Systems is seeking a motivated and innovative Electrical Engineering Intern eager to learn, contribute, and bring fresh ideas to complex design challenges. In this hands-on role, you'll gain experience across the full hardware development lifecycle while working closely with a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering team. Job Responsibilities * Work with experienced electrical engineers to support hardware design, development, integration, and testing * Participate as a hands-on contributor throughout the development lifecycle, including schematic design, layout support, design verification testing (DVT), validation, and optimization * Design, develop, and verify complex circuits or submodules using modern schematic capture tools * Support board bring-up activities, including drafting test plans and documenting test results * Assist with product validation testing such as EMC, power, thermal, and environmental stress screening * Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Software, and Procurement * Support production by helping troubleshoot manufacturing issues and field failure investigations * Drive procurement of prototype materials to verify form, fit, and function * Create and maintain Bills of Material (BoMs/PLs) * Draft and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) * Apply design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for test (DFT) principles Required Qualifications: * Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline * A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. Job Responsibilities: * Lead engineering team to design, develop and verify complex circuits, modules or systems to meet requirements * Lead engineering efforts to support production to resolve manufacturing issues or field failure investigation * Create engineering design guidelines, work instructions and checklists for design consistency and process improvement to reduce future development cost * Lead efforts to improve design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and design for test (DFT) * Provide technical leadership for new and on-going projects * Act as technical liaison with Manufacturing, Operations and Program Management * Provide technical expertise and experience to assist Program Managers and Technical Project Managers to develop cost estimate and integrated master schedule to ensure they are clearly defined Required Qualifications: * BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent (Master's preferred) * Ideally 6+ years electrical/hardware engineering experience * Experience with airborne electronic hardware certification process. * Experience using hardware engineering design tools, such as Cadence Concept, Cadence Capture, Allegro PCB Designer, SPICE, HyperLynx, Mentor Graphics Valydate * Expert knowledge in the use of digital test equipment such as spectrum analyzer and high-speed oscilloscopes. * Experience with design documentation and interpreting customer requirements * Experience multi-tasking on multiple projects * Experience leading projects Preferred Qualifications: * An active DoD Secret Clearance * Experience with high-speed digital interfaces such as FPGA, PCIe, SATA, I2C, ARINC 429, Ethernet * Experience with military test standards, such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, and MIL-STD-704 * Experience with Video input and output processing * Experience in Power Design * Experience working on proposals and schedule/cost estimates * Experience with Intel CPU design * Working knowledge of VITA design standards (VITA 42, 46, 62, 65) Locations: * This position is hybrid and can be located at one of the following Mercury Systems Locations: * Andover, MA * Hudson, NH * Huntsville, AL * Gulf Breeze, FL * Alpharetta, GA * Phoenix, AZ * Cypress, CA * Torrance, CA * Enjoy every other Friday off with our 9/80 work schedule!
