In this hands-on role, you'll gain experience across the full hardware development lifecycle while working closely with a collaborative, multidisciplinary engineering team.
Job Responsibilities
Work with experienced electricalengineers to support hardware design, development, integration, and testing
Participate as a hands-on contributor throughout the development lifecycle, including schematic design, layout support, design verification testing (DVT), validation, and optimization
Design, develop, and verify complex circuits or submodules using modern schematic capture tools
Support board bring-up activities, including drafting test plans and documenting test results
Assist with product validation testing such as EMC, power, thermal, and environmental stress screening
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Software, and Procurement
Support production by helping troubleshoot manufacturing issues and field failure investigations
Drive procurement of prototype materials to verify form, fit, and function
Create and maintain Bills of Material (BoMs/PLs)
Draft and manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs)
Apply design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for test (DFT) principles
Required Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor's degree in ElectricalEngineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline
A minimum GPA of 3.1 is required. You will be asked to submit your transcripts during the review process
Basic understanding of high-speed digital and analog circuitry, power management, and electromagnetic interference (EMI)
General knowledge of electronic schematic tools (e.g., Allegro Design Entry HDL, Mentor Graphics/DXDesigner)
Familiarity with digital test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and power supplies
Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Proficiency with standard documentation and presentation tools
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to conventional and advanced manufacturing techniques
Hands-on lab experience including soldering or rework equipment
Prior internship, co-op, or academic project experience related to hardware design or testing

Responsibilities for this Position
Duties and Tasks:
As a member of the Power and Analog Hardware group, you will be involved in all program phases, including:
• Electrical requirements analysis, functional analysis, performance analysis (e.g. timing, power, etc.), design, integration and verification/qualification of electrical hardware, equipment and systems
• Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) assessments of COTS or internally developed hardware; including requirement analysis, specification and testing of various designs (circuit cards, assemblies, etc.)
• Internal electrical and EMI/EMC reviews of electrical components, hardware, equipment and systems. Work with multi-discipline design teams to ensure best practices for EMI/EMC design, build, test principles.
• Evaluation of vendor capability to support product development
• Supporting resolution of any EMI/EMC related issues in design, integration & test, qualification, manufacturing, and equipment lifecycle support phases.
You will primarily support the Maritime & Strategic Systems business area developing and deploying Weapon System Control and Launch system hardware, with opportunities to work across multiple GDMS sites and programs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Clear understanding of electricalengineering concepts, principles, and theories with a focus on Power and EMI/EMC concepts and theories, including radiated emissions/susceptibility, conducted emissions/susceptibility, noise propagation and mitigation techniques.
• Clear understanding of electricalengineering processes and engineering design tools (MATLAB / Simulink, LTspice)
• Basic knowledge of power conversion (AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC & various topologies), power conditioning, filtering, distribution, protection, control & monitoring techniques
• Grasps and applies new information quickly
• Good ability to handle more complex assignments with experience
• Shows initiative on assignments, and professionally executes projects with little direction
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good ability to recognize and clearly report information relevant to sound ASIC/FPGA design topics
• Clear understanding of Microsoft Office application

This role will play a key role as a hardware engineering team member developing and sustaining data storage and transfer systems for the Data Systems Product Line, while contributing directly to hardware development efforts on programs.
Job Responsibilities:
* Lead engineering team to design, develop and verify complex circuits, modules or systems to meet requirements
* Lead engineering efforts to support production to resolve manufacturing issues or field failure investigation
* Create engineering design guidelines, work instructions and checklists for design consistency and process improvement to reduce future development cost
* Lead efforts to improve design for manufacturing (DFM), design for assembly (DFA) and design for test (DFT)
* Provide technical leadership for new and on-going projects
* Act as technical liaison with Manufacturing, Operations and Program Management
* Provide technical expertise and experience to assist Program Managers and Technical Project Managers to develop cost estimate and integrated master schedule to ensure they are clearly defined
Required Qualifications:
* BS in ElectricalEngineering or equivalent (Master's preferred)

* Experience with airborne electronic hardware certification process.
* Experience using hardware engineering design tools, such as Cadence Concept, Cadence Capture, Allegro PCB Designer, SPICE, HyperLynx, Mentor Graphics Valydate
* Expert knowledge in the use of digital test equipment such as spectrum analyzer and high-speed oscilloscopes.
* Experience with design documentation and interpreting customer requirements
* Experience multi-tasking on multiple projects
* Experience leading projects
Preferred Qualifications:
* An active DoD Secret Clearance
* Experience with high-speed digital interfaces such as FPGA, PCIe, SATA, I2C, ARINC 429, Ethernet
