We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in Boston, MA. Under the direction of Project Managers, this professional will be responsible for a variety of structural engineering tasks on multi-discipline projects.
The successful candidate will lead the structural design process for a variety of projects, providing technical expertise, innovative solutions, and guidance to junior engineers. The Senior Structural Engineer will collaborate closely with architects, designers, and other engineering disciplines to ensure the structural integrity and efficiency of our designs.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out structural design process from conceptualization to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Perform structural analysis and calculations for new building construction and existing structures.
Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges, optimizing structural performance while minimizing material usage and construction costs.

A Day in the Life of a Principal Engineer
As a Principal Engineer, you will lead and mentor an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from roadway reconstructions and streetscapes in highly urban settings to signature trail projects in suburban and rural areas that highlight and enhance the natural environment. You use programs like AutoCAD in order to fulfill production work on your projects as needed and/or supervise others doing that production work. You will manage projects and guide your team through design development, design review, bid package development, permitting, and answering questions during construction. You will work with your team to ensure that our projects are consistently of the highest quality.
You'll be at the table with clients and colleagues from a variety of disciplines, delivering projects to construction. You will play a key role in implementing the firm's quality initiatives and in supporting business development and project pursuits. In an industry that is constantly changing, you'll be at the forefront of delivering creative solutions to challenging projects.
We are targeting a salary range of $175,000-$200,000 for this position.
Work Schedule for a Principal Engineer
This full-time position typically works a hybrid schedule of 40 hours a week, with at least two to three days a week in the office. We also provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home up to two days per week. Our Boston office is conveniently located in Boston's Downtown Crossing, directly adjacent to the iconic Boston Common, within a short walk to all of the major rapid transit lines and close to both North Station and South Station commuter rail lines. Applicants should be willing to travel within New England to support public engagement activities. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit (Downtown Crossing, Park Station, South Station, SL4, SL5, and several buses including routes 43,7, 11).

Qualifications of a Principal CivilEngineer:
A Professional Engineering license in MA (other Northeast states a plus)
A bachelor's or master's degree in civilengineering, or relevant field
At least 15 years of relevant engineering experience

Wright-Pierce, an award-winning, multi-discipline environmental engineering firm specializing in water, wastewater, and civil infrastructure, is seeking a CivilEngineering Technician to join our Civil group. Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of a Registered Professional Engineer, you will be given the opportunity and responsibility to:
* Perform Roadway, site grading, site piping, and utility design for public and private clientele
* Assist with the development of contract specifications and bidding documents
* Create design models, drawings and maps for reports, permits and construction drawings
* Perform design tasks using Civil 3D
* Assist with the design of Stormwater Management elements, perform sanitary sewer and water system computation
* Assist with the preparation of permit applications
* Assist with project quantity take-off and construction cost estimating
Essential Functions
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Personal organization and time management skills
* Able to build strong relationship with coworkers
* Excellent attention to detail
* Diligent and dependable
Physical Requirements
* This position may require being assigned to fieldwork occasionally which may involve moderate physical activity
Experience
* 0-5 years of experience using design and modeling software along with experience in civil, site, and utility design
* Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D (release 2011 or newer) is considered a plus
Education
* Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
