Jay co-founded Synack after serving in several security-related capacities at the Department of Defense, including the DoD’s Incident Response and Red Team. Prior to founding Synack, Jay was a Senior Cyber Analyst at the National Security Agency (NSA), where his focus was supporting counterterrorism-related intelligence operations. Jay received a BS in Computer Science with a focus in Information Assurance and a MS in Engineering Management from George Washington University studying under a DoD/NSA-sponsored fellowship. Jay holds a number of security certifications from ISC(2) and GIAC.

Mark co-founded Synack after focusing over nine years on Cyber Security in Academia and Defense industries. Most recently, at the National Security Agency (NSA), Mark worked in roles that include Technical Director, Computer Network Operations Operator, Network Analyst, and Computer Scientist. Dr. Kuhr received a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Auburn University under a DoD/NSA-sponsored fellowship. He has published several papers on enterprise cyber security and performed research under DoD contracts related to information security, network analysis, and jam-resistant network communication protocols. Mark holds a number of security related certifications from CNSS and ISC(2).

Jim Hyman is a Chief Operating Officer at Synack Inc and is based in Greenbrae, California. He has worked as Vice President WW Sales at Trusteer, Director International Business Development at Marina L., and VP Business Development at BACKPLANE. Jim studied at University of Pennsylvania between 1986 and 1989, USC Marshall School of Business between 1994 and 1995, and WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business) between 1995 and 1995.

Experienced CIO, VP Product & VP Engineering executive with 25+ years building products and coaching high-performing teams. Most recently as VP of Product & Engineering at a $2bn B2B2C subscription business. A strategic thinker, well-versed in re-engineering and operating complex businesses on a global scale. Significant experience in Product & Technology strategy and delivery; Digital Transformation; M&A due diligence & integration; Lean Product Development; Program Management; and Organizational Development.
