Synaptics Leadership

With over 25 years of business and technology leadership experience, Mr. Hurlston currently serves as president and chief executive officer of Synaptics Incorporated, a worldwide pioneer and leader in human interface hardware and software. Before joining Synaptics, he was chief executive officer of Finisar Corporation, a manufacturer of optical communication components and subsystems. He also served as executive vice president, worldwide sales and in a variety of management roles over the course of his nearly 20-year career with Broadcom. Mr. Hurlston currently serves as a board member for Synaptics and Ubiquiti Inc., a position he has held since 2016. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Enginering and his MBA from the University of California, Davis.

Dean Butler joined Synaptics in October 2019. Before joining Synaptics, he served as Vice President of Finance at Marvell Technology Group Ltd. from July 2016 to October 2019. Prior to joining Marvell, he served as Controller of the Ethernet Switching Division at Broadcom Limited from January 2015 through July 2016. Prior to joining Broadcom, Mr. Butler held senior finance positions at Maxim Integrated from May 2007 to December 2014. Mr. Butler received his Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Michael Brooker joined Synaptics in December 2014 and now serves as Corporate Vice President of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer. Prior to Synaptics, Michael was Vice President of Information Technology Operations at Atmel Corporation. Prior to joining Atmel, Michael was president of his own technology consulting company and prior to that was Vice President of Strategic Projects at Idea Integration. Michael has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Griffith University (Australia); a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Curtin University of Technology (Australia), and is a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA).
