The Security Guard maintains a safe and secure environment for all employees, patients, visitors and physical properties according to policies and procedures. Welcomes patients and visitors, provides directions and information. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: NYS certification as Security Guard required. High School Diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two years security experience highly desirable. Valid New York State Driver's License. Must have Basic Life Support at the time of hire or within two (2) weeks after hire. Responsible for coordinating patient flow at the School Based Health Centers and preparing patients for examination/treatment by provider. Ensure availability of appropriate equipment. Obtain patient histories, record vital signs, conduct required age specific screening per EPSDT guidelines, obtain specimens, escort patients as required. All services and communications are provided in a confidential manner consistent with Syracuse Community Health Confidentiality Policy and Procedure. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree as a Medical Assistant or completion of a Medical Assistant Certificate program required. Three to six months of relevant experience required. Current Basic Life Support BLS certification. All staff working within the School Base Program must be fingerprinted and receive successful clearance through the New York State Department of Education who will complete criminal background checks. Responsible for providing comprehensive oral hygiene care to dental patients including the cleaning of teeth and gums as well as other applicable accepted procedures; communicates to patients, information relevant to the care of teeth and oral cavity; including appropriate dietary information; may assist dentist during specific procedures on patients; may take and develop x-rays, may also participate in dental training. Provide individual, family and group psychotherapy and counseling. Conduct intake evaluations, develop and implement treatment plans. Consult with and make referrals to clinical psychiatrist as clinically indicated. Act as patient advocate in securing services related to patients' social, environmental and psychological needs utilizing community agencies. Provide crisis intervention services for psychological problems as needed during the regular work schedule. Participate in the on-call rotation schedule within the Behavioral Health department. Provide consultation to the Syracuse Community Health providers on mental health aspects of patient care. Participate in clinical supervision, case conferences and departmental/unit meetings as scheduled. Maintain accurate, timely and up-to-date case notes for the medical records. Maintain and compile department records, files, logs and reports in accordance with Center policy. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited school with a master's or higher degree in relevant field. Current New York State license required as LMFT, LMHC, LMSW or LCSW. 1 Year clinical experience preferred. Bilingual skills preferred. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle objects, controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift up to 15 pounds. Must also have current BLS and infection control certifications. Must have a current DEA Registration, if applicable. Primary Schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:15pm.
