The Syracuse University Institute for Sustainability Engagement (ISE) is seeking a temporary project assistant to support program outreach, in-person and virtual event delivery, educational content development, and program tracking/monitoring for water and sustainability programming. The assistant will work across multiple sponsored projects that provide training, research, and technical assistance to water sector stakeholders including municipal staff, utility managers, and industry representatives. The project assistant will participate in strategic efforts to coordinate outreach, develop web content, and manage social media strategies across ISE's Environmental Finance Center and a national network of environmental finance organizations. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong writing skills, initiative, communication skills, and attention to detail.
Education and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, environmental studies, marketing, or a related field.
* Experience with water infrastructure topics, including policy, state and federal programs, and understanding of water sector stakeholders is a plus.
* Previous experience in a communications role, program coordination role, or events related role a plus.

Responsibilities
Virtual and in-person event support:
* Provide logistical support during online trainings and events, including leading and acting as technical host for large virtual gatherings and webinars
* Coordinate and facilitate meetings between speakers, project partners, and teammates

* Develop and distribute certificates of attendance

Educational content development:

The incumbent will perform all phases of bibliographic editing for monographic materials received from acquisitions departments.

Responsibilities
* Provides original and copy cataloging support for monograph material.

New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn, invites applications for a CUNY Administrative Assistant in the Mathematics department, which is housed in the School of Arts and Sciences. This position will be in provisional status. Continued employment is contingent upon taking and passing a civil service examination when it is offered by CUNY.
The Mathematics Department offers three degree programs: an associate degree program (AS) in Computer Science, a baccalaureate degree program (BS) in Applied Mathematics, and a baccalaureate degree program (BS) in Mathematics Education.
In addition to the General Duties, and reporting to the Chair, the Administrative Assistant will:
+ Serve as department secretary, and provide information to students regarding department, college, and university regulations.
+ Assist faculty and students with completing forms, locating records, and direct them for further assistance as needed.
+ Train and supervise student aides.
+ Assist the Chair to establish task priorities for the department, and help to keep the busy and complex office organized.
+ Draft routine and complex correspondence for the Chair, help improve and maintain record-keeping systems, and assist with producing statistical reports.With Chair approval, make improvements to Math department forms.
+ Assist with maintaining budgets, make petty cash purchases, and keep records.
+ Verify student transcripts, and record grades and grade changes.
+ Develop new and efficient methods for handling faculty and student files.
+ Communicate with faculty to maintain lists of required textbooks.
+ Assist with scheduling special exams for students.
+ Communicate with the college WebMaster to update information on the department website.
+ Communicate with staff to collect required paperwork.
+ Reserve classrooms and equipment as needed by the department faculty.
**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**
Proof of meeting qualification requirements is needed before the close of a Civil Service Examination filing period. You may be asked to provide proof of meeting these requirements at any time between your application and the close of the filing period.
1. Permanent status as a CUNY Office Assistant at Assignment Level 1 (Pay Level 3) or Assignment Level 2 (Pay Level 4).

Requirements:
This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS).
For the duration of the NY HELPS Program, this title maybe filled via a non-competitive appointment, which means no examination is required but all candidates must meet the minimum qualifications of the title for which they apply. At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected employees hired under NY HELPS will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to compete in an examination. Employees will then be afforded with all of the same rights and privileges of competitive class employees of New York State. While serving permanently in a NY HELPS title, employees may take part in any promotion examination for which they are qualified.
NON-COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (NY HELPS):
Either 1. Graduate of heating, HVAC, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration apprenticeship program from the U.S. Air Force;
Or 2. Must have been an enlisted machinery technician (MK) with the U.S. Coast Guard OR possession of a certificate as a Marine Engineer issued by the U.S. Coast Guard;
Or 3. Must have been an enlisted power generation equipment repairer with the U.S. Army;
Or 4. Must have been an enlisted gas turbine systems technician, submarine nuclear propulsion plant operator reactor control, utilities man, machinist mate, or engineman with the U.S. Navy;
Or 5. Must have a Merchant Mariner's Document (MMD) and have been a qualified member of the engine department (QMED) as an oiler, fireman/water tender, refrigerating engineer or engineman with the U.S. Merchant Marine;
Or 6. Completion of a New York State Department of Labor registered apprenticeship program for stationary engineers, plant maintenance (plumber/steamfitter), HVAC Mechanic or plant maintenance (refrigeration/AC) (See Note #1);
Or 7. Possession of a High-Pressure Boiler Operating Engineer License or Stationary Engineer License;
Or 8. A bachelor's degree in Facilities Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Marine Engineering;
Or 9. An associate's degree in HVAC;
Or 10. One year of full-time hands on experience in the maintenance and operation of commercial, industrial, institutional facility, computer applications of digital energy platforms and building analytics and/or performing diagnosis, repair of HVAC systems or boilers or auxiliary equipment;
Or 11. One year of full-time hands on experience in a residential setting performing diagnosis, operation, maintenance repair of HVAC systems or boilers or auxiliary equipment;
Or 12. Completion of an HVAC certificate or diploma from a BOCES program (440 hours) OR completion of an approved certificate in HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, boiler operations and maintenance, or plumbing from an accredited technical school or technology college (See Note #2);

COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (NON-NY HELPS):
Candidates must have a reachable score on the University at Albany Plant Utilities Assistant Exam List OR
Be a current NYS employee and have a current permanent appointment with 1 year of service as a Plant Utilities Assistant, or in a title eligible to transfer to Plant Utilities Assistant OR
Be a former NYS employee eligible for reinstatement to the title of Plant Utilities Assistant
May be filled from a mandatory reemployment list if one is in effect at the time of appointment.
