The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Syracuse University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of AssistantProfessor or a tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor in the broad field of Critical Minerals and the Energy Transition. We seek a highly collaborative geoscientist whose research directly addresses one or more of the fundamental solid-Earth processes underlying the genesis, migration, and preservation of critical minerals as well as other resources essential for the energy transition and a sustainable energy future. This is the first of several anticipated positions in this area. We seek a colleague who is either an established practitioner or an aspiring leader in this domain. Our new colleague's research will consider both fundamental and applied aspects of the field. Examples of research areas include: development of novel geochemical or geophysical techniques to characterize/discover critical mineral resources and evaluate their economic viability; the timing and pathways of fluid flow through the Earth's crust in the context of mineralization critical to energy transition resources; and subsurface analysis for geothermal energy, carbon sequestration and storage, geological hydrogen exploration, and other essential resources for the energy transition.
All applicants must demonstrate the potential to establish and sustain a strong, externally funded research program supported by diverse funding sources. Teaching responsibilities will include contributions to both graduate and undergraduate programs, including upper-division undergraduate courses in our Geology and Environmental Geosciences B.S. degrees as well as introductory-level Earth Science course offerings. The successful candidate will also be expected to supervise doctoral students and post-doctoral scholars as an integral component of their research program. The Division of Pediatric Anesthesiology is committed to providing outstanding care for children of all ages from neonates to young adults, and across a range of surgical and nonsurgical specialties at the Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital of New York (MS CHONY). These include general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, otolaryngology, ophthalmology, plastic surgery, urology, cardiac surgery, and solid organ transplantation. Notably, MS CHONY is home to one of the nation's busiest pediatric liver transplant programs. The clinical acuity at the MS CHONY is the highest of all children's hospitals in the US. MS CHONY is an exclusively pediatric facility, with ten operating rooms, an endo/bronchoscopy suite, and a diagnostic/imaging suite. The division provides specialized care for babies in the neonatal intensive care unit and children in the pediatric critical care unit and directs a dedicated pediatric pain management program and regional anesthesia service. Many of the activities and services of the Pediatric Anesthesiology division are integrated with the recently created Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiology division, which serves the largest pediatric cardiac surgical program in New York.
The division features a robust clinical program at MS CHONY, with ten operating rooms, two endoscopy rooms, and three diagnostic and interventional imaging rooms. The division also provides specialized care in an active neonatal intensive care unit and operates a dedicated pediatric pain management program.
The ideal candidate is an accomplished physician with a strong record in clinical care, education, and scholarship in pediatric anesthesiology. The Division Chief will foster the scholarly activity of pediatric anesthesiology faculty and fellows, maintain the division's exceptional standards of clinical care, and promote collaborative relationships with surgeons, pediatricians, and other clinical teams.
This leadership role is supported by a dedicated group of 16 board-certified pediatric anesthesiologists (faculty), pediatric anesthesiology fellows, and trainees from the highly-rated Columbia University anesthesiology residency program. Extensive departmental resources, including a state-of-the-art simulation center, are available. The Division Chief will recruit new faculty and further develop educational programs, including our ACGME-accredited Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship. discusses Bayesian methods for estimating linear models. We discuss three methods for estimating the Bayesian posterior: grid approximation, quadratic approximation, and Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods. Bayesian methods are used to estimate linear regression models and generalized linear models. We also use Bayesian methods to estimate multilevel models, also known as linear mixed models. We also estimate linear mixed models using non-Bayesian methods. We learn how to build, estimate, and evaluate these models and how to select the best one.

The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CBE) at the University at Buffalo (UB) invites candidates to apply for a position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor level to be known as Professor of Empire Innovation. Selected candidates will receive support through the SUNY Empire Innovation Program (EIP) which recognizes high caliber faculty with proven track records of externally funded research.
We invite applications from prominent leaders in the broad fields of AI and Biotechnology. Priority will be given to research areas such as AI-directed initiatives related to small molecule natural products; biologics; cell therapies; manufacturing across food, biotech, and biopharmaceutical products; and the interfacing of biotechnology and non-health-related fields (i.e., the biological production of organic or inorganic materials).

Candidates must have a graduate degree in Psychology, extensive experience in online teaching, and a demonstrated appreciation for research. The ideal candidate will have experience with innovative online instructional strategies and certification in online instruction.
The Department of Psychology offers Bachelor's, Master's, PhD degrees with concentrations in Behavioral Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, Social Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Primary Responsibilities:
* Teaching: Educating students, mentoring them, and fostering their intellectual development, which includes teaching online undergraduate courses and course preparation and development.
* Service: Contributing to the governance and functioning of the university, college, and department including participating in recruitment and retention activities, and mentoring students.
Functional and Supervisory Relationships:
* Reports to: Psychology Department Chair
Job Requirements:
* Sound knowledge of the psychology discipline and effective and innovative online instructional techniques and strategies
* Excellent organizational skills and multitasking abilities.
* Effective communication, approachability, and collegiality.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
* Ph.D. degree in Psychology from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization by 1/1/2026.
* Experience in online teaching at the collegiate level.
* Experience in online curriculum development at the collegiate level.
* Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community.
* Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Certification in online instruction
* Experience teaching statistics, experimental design and/or writing course online as the instructor of record at the college-level
* Research experience to inform experiential learning opportunities for students or instruction
