We are seeking new faculty members with academic interests in infection prevention & control, epidemiology, transplant ID and/or basic science research in addition to strong clinical skills. As an academic medical center, we are eager to find highly motivated individuals who can develop their own research projects in collaboration with the established investigators here at Columbia in Pediatrics as well as other Departments. The successful applicant can expect to work along with many other investigators at the Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons. Columbia provides an exceptionally rich academic atmosphere. Columbia has a varied and exciting clinical practice, focused primarily upon inpatient consultations. We are especially eager to recruit individuals with expertise in infectious prevention & control. Our childrens hospital, New York-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Childrens Hospital, is the largest childrens hospital in NYC which assures us more than ample exposure to a diverse patient population. Clinical responsibilities are shared among the members of the ID division and include daily rounding on a busy inpatient service with trainees and an ID- PharmD.
We have a very active hospital epidemiology service and members of the division are actively involved in IP&C and antimicrobial stewardship. These activities include research, mentorship, and additional skill development. Our group is highly collaborative, working closely with colleagues in other sub-specialty divisions as well as with the epidemiologists and ID physicians throughout the New York-Presbyterian 9 acute care campus system.
We are also actively involved in teaching at all levels, with learners from VP&S, the Mailman School of Public Health, pediatric residents and post-doctoral fellows. Our faculty frequently serves as mentors on the scholarly projects of these learners.
Depending upon the applicants background salary and academic rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OBGYN):

Works in conjunction with NYPW leadership and clinical staff to optimize teamwork and collaboration.
Works collaboratively with OBGYN physicians and advanced practice teams to adopt quality initiatives, evidence-based best practices, and adopt clinical guidelines for standardization of practice.
Promotes patient safety and maximizes efficiency of the OBGYN services.
Provides effective and responsive leadership for OBGYN service coordination, including clinical decision support for obstetric emergencies throughout the hospital and practice(s).
Collaborates with Senior Leadership to implement best practice and strategic initiatives.
Participates in multidisciplinary simulation training sessions.
Ensures that the evidenced-based standards of emergency room triage and surgical care are being met.
Effectively confers with Maternal-Fetal and Neonatology services for patients with high-acuity needs.

Using a systems-thinking approach, students investigate the interconnectedness of ecosystems, food systems, energy systems, and the built environment. Through interactive lectures, hands-on lab activities, and design-based projects, students will examine topics such as ecological restoration, regenerative agriculture, energy-efficient design, and sustainable transportation. Field experiences bring these ideas to life through visits to locations such as the Hudson River, the Billion Oyster Project, vertical farms, and examples of green architecture. Students conduct water and air quality testing, experiment with renewable energy through projects like solar cars and water wheels, and collaborate on case studies that analyze real-world strategies for sustainability.

Course Description
The field of biology has expanded rapidly over the past fifty years. New discoveries are happening almost every day. In this course we explore the basic elements of molecular biology, genetics, and evolution and how these sciences affect modern medicine, agriculture, and ecology.
The course begins with a full description of the structure, function, and synthesis of DNA, RNA, and proteins. Students then apply this information to a wide range of topics such as modern biological research techniques, data interpretation, genetic engineering, immunology, cancer, and virology. The course also includes mini-units on bioethics and the biology of global warming, and we connect modern biology to fields such as anthropology, history, and economics. A variety of group activities, online labs, and videos supplement the student experience.
Please note, this course does not include a wet lab component.
Approximately a third of the material covered in this course will already be familiar to students who have taken AP Biology.

Course Description
This course provides students with a comprehensive introduction to the legal framework that governs the creation, operation, and dissolution of business organizations. We'll explore the different types of business entities-such as sole proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations-and learn how to select the right entity based on specific business needs. Students will also examine the legal issues that arise throughout a business's lifecycle, from formation to operation to termination, including contracts, liabilities, and disputes.
Throughout the course, we'll evaluate the legal responsibilities of key stakeholders, including agents, partners, and corporate officers and directors, and how their actions impact a business's success or failure. We'll also propose legal terms to be included in essential business documents, such as articles of incorporation, partnership agreements, and bylaws, to address common organizational challenges. By the end of the course, students will have a broad understanding of how businesses function from a legal perspective.
No prior knowledge of law is required, though a general understanding of business concepts will be helpful.

Course Description
The ability to skillfully influence and persuade others is the key to success in business, civic engagement, and politics. The primary goal of the course is to help prepare students to organize and present information in compelling and concise ways. While the art and science of persuasion has a long history, recent breakthroughs in the field of Generative A.I. are poised to completely upend traditional approaches to the creation and targeting of persuasive messages. The effective use of A.I. as a technology of influence, however, requires an understanding of both the social psychological foundations of persuasion, and a basic knowledge of how A.I. systems work.
Toward that end, students who successfully complete this course will gain a solid grounding in how Generative A.I. can be deployed to effectively influence people's attitudes, opinions, and behaviors in ways designed to optimize specified outcomes. Students will have the opportunity to apply this knowledge through “hands-on” participation in a Team Project, where working in small groups students will build their own persuasive messaging campaigns, utilizing “off the shelf” Generative A.I. tools-e.g., ChatGPT, Dall-E, Bard. Together, through the combination of readings, classroom instruction, group work, and in-class learning activities, the overall objective of the course is to improve student's ability to apply the principles of A.I.-based persuasion to achieve desired business outcomes, galvanize change, and forge greater civic and political engagement.

Quantum computing offers a transformative paradigm. By taking advantage of qubits' ability to exist in multiple states simultaneously and exploiting the probabilistic and delocalized behaviors of quantum systems, quantum computing promises exponentially more efficient calculations than conventional computers. This would revolutionize fields that involve optimization, modeling and simulation, cryptography, and AI. However, realizing this potential requires designing systems with novel architectures, improved error correction strategies and data coherence, and robust tolerance for realistic operating environments (e.g., temperature management and vibration isolation).
In parallel to the benefits of quantum computing, artificial intelligence and neuromorphic computing seek to emulate the massively parallel, highly efficient computing capacity of the human brain. While quantum and neuromorphic/AI computing represent very distinct approaches to computing innovation; their integration holds immense promise for advancing technology and applications. Quantum-assisted training of neuromorphic/AI systems represents a fresh approach for optimizing the neuromorphic structure and more efficient weighting of system synapses compared to classical computing systems.
The candidate for this Simons Empire Faculty Fellow position is expected to work at the intersection of quantum computing and artificial intelligence, while pursuing excellence in research, teaching, and service at a Carnegie R1 institution that serves a broad community and mentors the next generation of scientists. The candidate will contribute to robust undergraduate and graduate programs in their discipline, will collaborate within the department and across the university to promote multidisciplinary research and increase extramural funding, and will perform community outreach and service to the university, college, and department. Key areas of interest within this focus on computing and artificial intelligence include, but are not limited to, neural networks, error correction, and system architecture, with particular emphasis on translating theoretical advances into practical applications.
The candidate will work with a team of researchers in quantum computing, cognitive neuroscience, and mathematics to make advances at the intersection of quantum computing, neuromorphic computing, and artificial intelligence. The Department of Nanoscale Science and Engineering is uniquely positioned within the Albany Nanotech Complex, home to NY CREATES - The Future of Innovation. The position will begin January 1, 2026, for a one-year term appointment with the potential for renewal.
The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching three online courses per semester (six courses per academic year), developing and delivering online course materials, contributing to the program's curriculum, mentoring and advising students, and enhancing student engagement in a virtual environment. Additionally, the candidate will participate in service at the departmental, college, and university levels. This position may include instruction in both introductory and advanced courses. The ability to teach courses in statistics and research methods is especially desirable.
Candidates must have a graduate degree in Psychology, extensive experience in online teaching, and a demonstrated appreciation for research. The ideal candidate will have experience with innovative online instructional strategies and certification in online instruction.

The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in Syracuse University is seeking an individual to lead COM 117 Multimedia Storytelling Labs on Thursdays 5:00pm-6:20pm and Thursdays 6:30pm-7:50pm during Spring 2026. The two labs are taught in conjunction with a main teaching section of Multimedia Storytelling, which is led by a lead instructor. (3 credits).
Chosen candidate should be able to attend the main teaching section on Tuesdays/Thursdays 12:30pm-1:50pm as well as the lab sections.
Course Description: This class is a foundation course required for all majors in the Newhouse School. Students work collaboratively in teams of three to produce a variety of short films that tell stories that persuade, document, and entertain predefined audiences. Basic story structure is taught as well as how to write and edit stories for video production. Students learn digital photography, videography, and editing for sound and picture.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree required.
Job Specific Qualifications
Instructors in this class should be:
* Familiar with story development and the production process for persuasive, non-fiction, and fiction storytelling.
* Able to evaluate student script writing and video editing for team projects.
* Have basic skills in digital photography, video, and audio.
* Familiar with the primary software package used by the students in the class: Adobe Premiere.
Responsibilities
It is understood that teaching assignments may include the following:
* Viewing the syllabus course content for each week in advance of lab sessions.
* Ordering in advance books and materials for students in the class and others.

* Following guidance from lead instructor on topics related to course materials, student questions and progress, assignments, and exams.
* Holding office hours each week to meet with students in the class and others.
