Position Summary
Under the direction of the Chief Advanced Practice Provider, the Physician Assistant will provide services to the Emergency Medicine Department at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and/or Allen Hospital. Responsibilities

Initiates subspecialty consultations or evaluations.

The Student Employment Coordinator supports the College of Engineering's student employment operations by facilitating efficient, compliant, and well-documented hiring and onboarding processes for graduate assistants and student workers. This role ensures accuracy in employment data, compliance with University and federal requirements, and strong communication between departments, supervisors, and students.
45% Student Employment Processing Assist with the collection and organization of required pre-employment materials for graduate assistants and student workers, including offer letters, s, and screening documentation. Support the hiring and onboarding process by entering student appointments, terminations, job profile changes, compensation changes, and separation transactions in Workday. Maintain detailed records to track the status of student hiring and employment actions each semester, ensuring all processes are completed accurately and on schedule.
30% Communication & Compliance Support: Serve as a primary point of contact for supervisors and student employees, providing guidance on hiring procedures, employment eligibility, and compliance requirements. Issue reminders and notifications related to I-9 verification, weekly work hour limits, and academic eligibility. Monitor compliance, identify and escalate potential concerns to the Student Employment Specialist, and participate in Student Employment Program (SEP) meetings to remain current on procedural and policy updates.
10% Job Posting Coordination: Coordinate student job postings in University-approved systems such as Handshake, ensuring that all postings are accurate, clearly written, and in compliance with University and College standards. Collaborate with departments to maintain consistency in s and posting procedures.
10% Coordinate and complete I-9 verifications for student employees and assist HR Specialists with I-9 processing as needed. Support hiring managers with the creation of new supervisory organizations and assignment of appropriate access in Workday. Collect RS:17 documentation for research graduate assistant appointments and initiate the RS:17 screening process in Workday.
5% Perform other duties as assigned to support the College's student employment operations and the initiatives of the Student Employment Specialist.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related experience.
