Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position based in Savannah, GA. The Warehouse Lead will oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, inventory management, and handling of goods and materials. Key responsibilities will also involve ensuring accurate packing, unloading shipments, supervising team members, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The ideal candidate will ensure timely, organized processes while monitoring stock levels and optimizing warehouse space.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Shipping & Receiving processes, with hands-on experience in Packing and Unloading shipments
Proven ability in Inventory Control, ensuring accurate stock levels and optimization of storage space
Experience utilizing warehouse equipment such as a Forklift, cherry picker, and/or turret safely and efficiently
Strong team management and leadership skills, with a focus on effective communication

What You'll Do:
Maintain a safe and organized warehouse area.

Operate powered industrial forklift and pallet jack to organize inventory and load/unload shipments.

Union Rescue Mission (URM) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. POSITION SUMMARY:
Under general supervision, the Warehouse Associate will assist with the coordination of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including documentation, and associated material handling duties. In addition, this position performs various tasks, usually clerical in nature, related to inventory and warehousing and assists on routes to pick up donations.

WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Process incoming and outgoing goods.
Responsible for preparing items for distribution, including labeling, pulling products, palletizing items, shrink wrapping, loading/unloading to/from delivery trucks.
Responsible for verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments; and verifying information against bills of lading, packing slips, donation receipts, orders, logs, or other records.
Responsible for checking all deliveries/packages and ensuring they are distributed appropriately.
Perform inventory and maintain accurate counts of assorted items in the warehouse.
Move items to appropriate storage areas.
Assist drivers on large pick-ups as needed.
Available to work at any warehouse or logistic area as needed and directed by Transportation Manager.
Maintain the storage area clean and orderly.
Conduct other tasks and projects as assigned by the Transportation Manager.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
Must be able to walk around the warehouse, climb ladders, lift, move items, and operate warehouse equipment most of each work day.

Requirements
EXPERIENCE/ EDUCATION/ LICENSURES/ CERTIFICATIONS:
Must have a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of experience that is related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES:
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office and be able to learn proprietary company software.
Must have excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
Must be in good physical shape to execute the physical demands of the job.
Must be detail oriented.
Must possess the ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment.
Must be certified to operate a pallet jack and a forklift.
Must be able to work on Saturdays.
Salary Description $17.87 - $19.40 (depending on experience)
