Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RI&S) is looking for an Principal Systems Integration and Test (I&T) Lead Engineer. The candidate will provide engineering support to the overall system and will have experience working on large software systems with an emphasis on troubleshooting issues. They also must have integration and test expertise, and be capable of developing a strong rapport within the program and the customer community. They will lead system level integration, Checkout, and other Test activities after deployments. The T901 Qualification Engine Owner has responsibility for the successful planning, design and execution of engine ground test vehicles in support of T901 engine qualification. In this role you will utilize your expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.

Impacts departmental operations and responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures.
Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

* Lead the assembly, instrumentation and test planning activities for the assigned test vehicle(s) using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements
* Develop the engine qualification test plans in accordance with the T901 Engine Model Specification requirements
* Develop and maintain critical path plan for test vehicle development and test execution within program schedule and budget requirements
* Support the design and development of any special tooling or equipment needed to facilitate the engine test
* Provide technical leadership to engineering personnel/cross-functional team supporting the assigned project and drive resolution of technical issues and actions
* Facilitate regular technical meetings and reviews with engineering and program teams
* Provide timely communications with management on technical, program, organizational and resource issues
* Lead test design reviews with chief engineering office and ensure all action items closed in timely manner
* Participate in customer technical reviews and IPT meetings
* Provide onsite technical leadership and guidance during engine assembly and testing
* Facilitate post-test inspections of all critical hardware and timely closure of all action items and hardware chits
* Write qualification test report(s) and ensure proper documentation of all test data, results and findings per business standards and best practices

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent engineering degree
* At least 3 years of experience in Engineering position.

About This Role

We believe people should love what they do - in this role, you will be responsible for:
  • Lead a team of test engineers, including talent development and managing test series across multiple programs
  • Plan, coordinate, schedule and lead test and evaluation activities to ensure that test requirements and objectives are met per customer/program requirements and engineering and quality standards
  • Prepare and/or review test plans, test procedures, test readiness reviews and test reports for functional, environmental, and field tests
  • Lead both in-house and field data collection activities including setup and operation of telemetry systems, data recorders, high speed cameras, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and other test instrumentation
  • Support customer test activities including product installation, integration, test, data acquisition and analysis
  • Perform preliminary "quick-look" analysis and provide post-test debrief to engineering team and customers
  • Coordinate with appropriate program, engineering and external organizations during test planning, execution, analysis and reporting phases
  • Develop plans and budgetary estimates for test services in support of proposals and program planning
  • 15 - 25% Travel


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 10+ years of related experience, Master's degree and 5+ years of related experience
  • Team leadership experience
  • Experience with U.S. DoD product development
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity, networking, and wireless communications is a plus
  • Knowledge and/or experience with use and handling of explosives or dangerous goods is a plus
  • Active Secret clearance preferred; Secret eligibility required
