The Systems Administrator monitors, deploys, implements, and maintains the County's Infrastructure Systems. This includes managing servers, storage, backups, and the virtualized computing environments. Additionally, this role maintains the security of the environment by following established processes and procedures in accordance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Systems Management:
o Evaluate, test, and deploy new infrastructure systems
o Perform installations, updates, and routine maintenance of infrastructure systems
o Administrate a domain environment managing users, computers, DNS, DHCP, policy, and certificates
o Administrate an email environment managing users, mailboxes, spam, and databases
o Administrate an online tenant managing identities, clients, software, governance, risk, and compliance
Server Management
o Administrate a server environment managing assets, software, and controlling compliance
o Recommend and/or assist with implementation of new system hardware, firmware, and upgrades
o Deploy server software and maintain it through its lifecycle including upgrades, migrations, and retirement
o Maintain a knowledge of network topology concepts and server planning within development, test, and production environments
System Monitoring and Maintenance
o Monitor storage area networks (SAN), backups, and virtual server environments
o Proactively audit server system performance, identify trends, and provide remediation to concerns
o Perform patch management to ensure systems are current with security patches and updates
Data Protection and Security
o Protect county data following county policy and procedure
o Manage VPN remote administration and security practices
o Audit daily reports of the county backup system, perform scheduled test
o Implement security practices and permissions to ensure data protection
Other Duties
o Contribute to project planning, tracking, and management
o Train continuously to stay current with industry changes

Qualifications
Skills and Abilities:
· Extensive knowledge and considerable work experience with recent Microsoft Windows Server Platforms (2016, 2019, 2022)
· Strong knowledge and considerable work experience conducting Active Directory and Group Policy administration, PowerShell scripting, and implementing best security practices; knowledge of certificates including TLS and PKI
· Strong knowledge and work experience with Microsoft Exchange, Exchange PowerShell Administration, and Spam Filter Administration
· Strong knowledge and work experience with M365 administration (Microsoft Cloud Computing)

Server Management
o Administrate a server environment managing assets, software, and controlling compliance

Qualifications
Skills and Abilities:
· Extensive knowledge and considerable work experience with recent Microsoft Windows Server Platforms (2016, 2019, 2022)
· Strong knowledge and considerable work experience conducting Active Directory and Group Policy administration, PowerShell scripting, and implementing best security practices; knowledge of certificates including TLS and PKI
· Strong knowledge and work experience with Microsoft Exchange, Exchange PowerShell Administration, and Spam Filter Administration
· Strong knowledge and work experience with M365 administration (Microsoft Cloud Computing)

This position is for a Senior Network Administrator in a mixed and growing environment currently supporting functional teams and customers that utilize MS Windows server 2019/2022, MS SQL 2019, MS Windows 11, VMWare 7.x.,OEL 8x-9x, and Oracle Operating systems. This position will work with the existing team members who are responsible for designing and supporting multiple complex networks in different locations. This position will help lead in the strategies to manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot and support networks for multiple customer environments. This position will lead efforts to plan, execute and implement new network implementations. Responsible for creating and maintaining team technical instructions, operating procedures, and policies as needed. This position will need to be adept at monitoring and tuning system and network performance, ongoing operation of the network, hardening of the network and reporting of the overall security and operational status. The position will also recommend improvements to the enterprise and manage new SW/HW integrations when required while also providing utilization reports using existing tools to identify problems and corrective actions as needed.
