Strong understanding of networking protocols and services, including Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), VPNs, and Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs). Proficiency in Linux server administration, particularly with Debian-based distributions (e.g., Ubuntu). Hands-on experience administering cloud platforms for small organizations (e.g., Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform). Scripting and automation skills, particularly using Bash and/or Python, for routine system tasks and configuration management. Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills, especially in environments with limited IT support layers. Preferred Qualifications Experience working autonomously in small teams or startup environments with broad technical responsibilities. Familiarity with modern DevOps practices and tools commonly used in software development and deployment pipelines. Exposure to information security tools and practices, such as: Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems Endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools Experience going through certification processes related to CMMC, NIST 800-171, SOC2, and ISO 27001 Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
