Systems analyst job in Tucson, AZ
Change the world. Love your job.
About the job Texas Instrument is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our precision analog to digital converter (ADC) team. As a Texas Instruments (TI) Systems Engineer for precision ADC, you will have the opportunity to work in a vibrant and dynamic team-oriented environment with exposure to a variety of state-of-the art applications, all while helping shape the future of data converters. TI has the industry's largest portfolio of ADCs covering 8 to 32 bits in resolution, best in class performance, smallest footprint, and high system-on-chip integration. TI ADC solutions enable a wide range of exciting and fast-changing applications including factory automation, process controls, grid infrastructure, automotive, medical and more.
We are looking to hire an experienced systems engineer/architect to drive new investment areas for the precision ADC (PADC) team. Those new investment areas require a higher degree of digital integration into our ADCs to perform advanced signal processing functions, such as sensor linearization and temperature compensation. The ideal candidate has strong background in defining mixed-signal products with integrated processing units. Those new devices are becoming more and more ASSPs (Application-specific standard products) or SoCs (System on Chips), therefore the candidate needs to be able to develop a deep understanding of the complete customer system requirements. The engineer develops detailed product specifications for those next generation products and provide guidance to the design, test, applications, and marketing teams to ensure flawless execution. Additional responsibilities include the creation of functional safety concepts, analyses and work products for those devices.
Responsibilities may include:
Ability to identify technical challenges faced by customers by diving deep into the EE and application, and provide insightful roadmaps by understanding the signal chain deeply
Analyze key automotive and industrial end-equipment to identify future trends and opportunities for improving performance and adding value to these systems
Develop strong short- and long-term product roadmaps based on market and system needs with customer insights
Provide strategic advice on future business direction to sustain significant market share gains
Assess and negotiate IC development tradeoffs with design team and customers
Assess and drive a microcontroller integration strategy for the product line
Define firmware algorithms which solve customer signal processing needs
Drive action in the development team from initial concept to RTM to hit critical performance metrics and deadlines to meet customer requirements
Perform functional-safety analyses and create functional-safety work products (such as FMEDAs, safety manuals, safety reports)
Be the technical expert, responsible for product ramp-up for the customer
Collaborate with marketing and applications team in the development of technical collateral to accelerate the adoption of new and existing products
Relentlessly drive new design wins for new and existing products
Bring quick resolution to customer problems by interfacing across different functional groups such as design, product, test, packaging, marketing and sales
Assist with generating the revenue plan for the organization
Create technical literature such as datasheets and technical articles
Build relationships with customers/field teams by closely interacting with them to identify and solve system problems with TI silicon
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study
5+ years of experience in systems, applications or design
Strong understanding of analog/mixed-signal ICs and their applications
Experience in developing differentiated product roadmaps
Experience in architecting and defining microcontroller-based mixed-signal ICs
Experience in promoting/marketing ICs and driving design wins by providing system solutions
Experience in the product development process from concept to volume production
Very comfortable in discussing deep technical topics with design engineers and customers
Knowledge about typical automotive interfaces (such as SENT, LIN, CAN) is a plus
Experience with functional safety hardware and/or software development
Cybersecurity experience is a plus
Preferred qualifications:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for mixed-signal systems
Strong technical writing skills (datasheets, technical articles)
Strong time and project management skills that ensure on-time project delivery
Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
Ability to build strong, influential relationships
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
Ability to take initiative, innovate, drive for results, and drive for continuous improvement
