Systems architect job description

1. Performs expert-level systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.

2. Develops technical roadmaps for future implementations.

3. Develops business case analysis on potential projects.

4. Ensures security is integrated into all architecture solutions.

5. Performs advanced systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.

6. Acts as a subject-matter expert to multiple tasks and/or programs.

7. Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients.

8. Plans and directs upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements.

9. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.

10. Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.

11. Serves as a service area architect.

12. Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers and may have supervisory responsibilities.

13. Serves as primary liaison with senior clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.

14. Provides high level expertise to multiple projects and tasks.

15. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

16. Participates in special projects as required.

Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Experience designing and implementing large scale complex technology solutions.

Specialized experience architecting at least one of the following enterprise solutions: Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Storage, Networking, Audio/Visual Capabilities (Conference Rooms, Auditoriums, Video Walls, etc.), or Unified Communications.

Demonstrated skills in bridging the gap between theoretical and practical.

Demonstrated experience performing associated trade off analysis.

Experience designing solutions in secure/air gapped environments.

Master's Degree preferred.

10 or more years of related systems engineering experience.

Active TS Clearance with ability for SCI.

Minimum qualifications:

+ Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related fields, or equivalent practical experience.

+ 3 years of experience in developing, planning, and executing power solutions for low power electronics.

+ 3 years of experience in mobile phone architecture.

Preferred qualifications:

+ 10 years of working experience in a fast paced environment.

+ Experience in one or more of the following specializations: Power Management Integrated Circuit (PMIC) design, product performance optimization, peak power management, battery life optimization, battery charging, fuel gauging, test automation.

+ Experience in spice simulation tools to make efficient optimizations and system tradeoffs.

+ Experience in power supply design, debugging devices using low-level software, JTAG, UART, etc.

+ Knowledge of thermals, IC, and product packaging challenges/limitations.

+ Knowledge of DC-DC power conversion topologies, PMIC architecture and PCB layout.

The Hard Processor System (HPS) Architect will be responsible for the processor Subsystem architecture for Intel FPGA and will provide technical leadership for those devices. The role covers specification generation, specification negotiation, system modelling, and definition of processor core and peripherals. The HPS architect will require a broad knowledge in Processors, peripherals and IP design. The architect will provide high speed interconnects, coherency and caching schemes to eliminate performance bottlenecks. The candidate will understand clocking, configuration, boot flows and proficiency to work with Software and firmware teams. The candidate will be responsible for defining complex HPS subsystem, understand the complex global nature of the problem, work cross functionally with several other architects. Experience in FPGA, industry or application.
Qualifications:
BS in Electrical Engineering or relevant field
Experience as a Hardware Design with a minimum of 8+ years of experience in design and architecture Experience in Processor, CPU based designs, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in CPU based designs. Experience with ARM or RISCV or Intel based processors.Experience in architecting complex systems using and demonstrating success in deploying those systems.

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
