Position Overview
The Cloud Systems Engineer collaborates with architecture and engineering teams to implement and operate cloud solutions supporting business initiatives. This role works closely with IT Operations and cross-functional technology disciplines to deploy, secure, and optimize cloud environments in Microsoft Azure, AWS, and hybrid infrastructures. The position is based in New York or Arizona (Mesa), supporting teams across Phoenix, Arizona, and the East Coast.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Storage Management
· Support, deploy, and manage enterprise storage solutions, including Qumulo and NetApp platforms, supporting both cloud and on-premises environments.
· Oversee storage provisioning, performance optimization, and capacity planning for multi-site, high-availability architectures.
· Implement and monitor continuous replication and disaster recovery strategies using Qumulo and NetApp, leveraging features such as SnapMirror and block-level replication for robust data protection.
· Troubleshoot and resolve storage-related issues, including NFS mount configurations, SAN integration, and performance bottlenecks.
Backup and Data Protection
· Design, implement, and manage backup solutions with Rubrik, including configuration, policy automation, and integration with Qumulo and NetApp storage.
· Ensure backup verification, restore support, and routine health checks for Rubrik clusters and associated storage arrays.
· Enhance data protection and malware resilience by leveraging Rubrik's immutable snapshots and advanced replication features.
· Lead large-scale data migrations and recovery operations, coordinating with cross-functional teams and vendors.
Cloud Infrastructure and Automation
· Develop and maintain automation scripts for storage and backup management using PowerShell, Python, Bash, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
· Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for efficient provisioning and lifecycle management of cloud resources.
Monitoring, Performance, and Optimization
· Implement and manage monitoring frameworks for storage and backup systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with SLAs.
· Analyze resource utilization and optimize cost and performance across cloud and on-premises environments.
Security, Compliance, and IAM
· Support security best practices and compliance standards (SOX, SOC2, ISO, PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GDPR) for storage and backup environments.
· Integrate and monitor security tools, automate compliance reporting, and manage IAM policies for storage access.
Operational Support and Incident Management
· Lead incident management for storage and backup systems, collaborating with support organizations and vendors to resolve and prevent issues.
· Provide high-quality support to customers, prospects, management, and peers.
Collaboration and Leadership
· Work collaboratively within a global, follow-the-sun support model, including after-hours and on-call responsibilities.

* Support the Engineering Manager and Chief Engineer as a teacher, coach, and mentor to multi-disciplinary engineering teams (hardware, firmware, software, systems, test).
* Build and nurture a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and collaboration.
* Develop training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives to elevate team expertise in avionics radio systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Provide high-level technical guidance to engineering leadership, manufacturing, quality assurance, and certification entities within the business unit.
* Interface with customers, suppliers, and certification authorities as the recognized technical authority for radio systems.
* Support bid and proposal efforts by defining system concepts, risks, and development estimates.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field (advanced degree preferred).
* 15+ years of experience in aerospace avionics product development, with strong emphasis on embedded systems and real-time radio and audio signal processing.
* Demonstrated expertise in:
* Radio hardware design (analog/digital RF circuits, codecs, DSPs, FPGAs, microcontrollers)
* Embedded software and firmware (real-time operating systems, safety-critical development standards)
* Certification processes (DO-178C, DO-254, DO-160, ARP4754/4761)
* Proven track record as a senior technical leader on complex aerospace programs.
* Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.
* INCOSE Certification is a plus.

Computer Systems Engineer - EF9020
Duties: Work directly with clients to define their unique systems integration needs and document technical requirements. Analyze business needs and propose product design strategies to support those needs. Engineer the integration of complex systems. Provide knowledge and skill development in designing, troubleshooting and servicing electronic equipment, computer equipment, and software. Apply engineering methods for product analysis and research and use agile scrum methodology for project management. Lead the development of front-end systems using, but not limited to, HTML5, Angular, Entity Frameworks. Lead the development of RESTful web services and MVC web APIs using C#, and .NET technologies. Optimize database performance for clients and manage technical requirements documentation and aid in the design of database objects in relational databases including but not limited to T-SQL and MS SQL database systems. Evaluate emerging technologies considering cost, portability, compatibility, and usability. Provide technical guidance and support to oversee staff assigned to project, monitor system operations, guide installation teams to implement secure systems and use commercial and proprietary tools. Serve as a leader on the product development team to guide and direct the growth the product. Mentor junior software developers. Assist Application Support Specialists in help desk requests that require technical analysis and code review.
Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Computational Systems Engineering or the foreign equivalent. Three years (36 months) of experience in Computer Systems Engineering, Software Development, or a related occupation. Experience must include experience with .net programming and application development. Must have experience with each of the following programs and databases: MVC; C#; HTML5; Angular; Entity Framework; T-SQL; and MS SQL database. Less than 10% domestic travel required annually.
