ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE: * Responsible for controls systems design, specification, programming, simulation and testing, and start-up assistance. * Ability to work cross functionally with mechanical engineering, understanding kinematics of mechanical designs. * Experience in: Developing PLC logic and Human Machine Interface from concept to operational use with any of the following PLCs: IFM Efector, Allen Bradley, Modicon, GE Fanuc, Siemens, AutomationDirect, Mitsubishi, Omron, Aromat, Toshiba, HMI or SCADA programming and configuration of any of the following software packages Wonderware, Rockwell, Intellution, GE Cimplicity, Ci-Tech, Iconics, Siemens, US Data, etc. or other mobile-equipment controller such as Vasso, HED. * Experience with: CODESYS, IEC 61131-3, MATLAB Simulink, Model Based Development, CAN Diagnostic Tools, CAN Bus, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, Industrial Ethernet, CANOpen, J1939, PROFIBUS, DeviceNet and/or other RS485 Networks. * Design controls required to aid in the performance of the primary duty of a refuse collection vehicle. * Compliance with all applicable government safety and environmental standards as they pertain to motor vehicles or heavy-duty trucks. * Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in design, programming, and troubleshooting. * Requires the ability to simultaneously organize and successfully execute multiple project responsibilities. * Possess great communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of management, clients, and vendors. * Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and structural problems. * Act as a technical mentor and coach to less experienced engineers. * Travel required for this position up to 20 to 30%. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, equivalent technical degree, or equivalent experience. * 5 to 7 years related experience in controls and assembly operations. * Must have ground up development experience with PLC applications. * Must have testing experience with PLC Application Code. * Design and development of Control System applications including generating PLC logic or other mobile controller platforms. * Wiring schematic design capabilities. * Good electrical and mechanical skills.
