In this position, the Junior Systems Administrator will help configure, maintain, and monitor systems such as Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, Windows Server, Intune, Defender, and various on-premises and cloud-based services.
The role is involved with identity and access management, system updates and patching, data backup processes, endpoint security, and basic network troubleshooting. Additionally, the individual will help support infrastructure improvement efforts, participate in system upgrades or migrations, and contribute to documentation, standards, and process enhancements across the IT environment.

Essential Responsibilities
Assists with the configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of NEI's core IT systems, including Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms, cloud resources, and network infrastructure.
Supports identity and access management by assisting with account provisioning, permission changes, group policy updates, and directory service maintenance.
Participates in the administration and upkeep of Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and related cloud services.
Helps maintain endpoint management and compliance using Intune, Microsoft Defender, and other security tools, ensuring that devices meet company standards.
Performs routine system maintenance such as patching, software deployments, update management, log reviews, and monitoring of system health metrics.
Assists with maintaining data backup processes, storage systems, and recovery testing.
Supports network operations through basic troubleshooting of connectivity, VPN access, routing/switching concepts, DNS/DHCP issues, and wireless performance.
Participates in system upgrades, infrastructure enhancements, and technology lifecycle replacement projects as assigned.

Supports documentation and maintenance of Disaster Recovery and Incident Response procedures and participates in testing activities.

Supports the creation, testing, and rollout of standardized software packages for mass deployment, helping ensure consistent configurations and smooth application delivery across all devices.
Provides Tier I/Tier II support by responding to IT service requests, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and ensuring timely resolution for team members.
Handles issues involving Windows, Office applications, Microsoft 365 services, printing, mobile devices, remote access, and other business technologies.
Performs in-depth troubleshooting for recurring or complex issues and seeks assistance when necessary.

Assists team members by providing instruction, guidance, and formal/informal training on systems and tools as needed.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our high-impact team supporting a mission-critical program within the Space Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (SISR) business unit. We're seeking an Engineer who can bring their development fundamentals, a passion for automation, and hands-on expertise in Groovy-based CI/CD pipelines, Linux operating systems, and cloud-native container orchestration. You will help design scalable systems, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, ensure infrastructure reliability, and foster a culture of collaboration between Development, QA, and Operations.
What You Will Do
Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines to support frequent, reliable software deployments at a medium-sized enterprise scale.
Build and deploy containerized applications using Docker and Helm; troubleshoot issues in Kubernetes at the application level.
Monitor and improve system performance, uptime, observability, and disaster recovery readiness in both local and hybrid cloud environments.
Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and IA teams to optimize performance and standardize secure DevOps workflows.
Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and resolution for CI/CD and deployment pipeline issues.
Evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies to support automation, vulnerability scanning, and secure build practices.
Help establish DevSecOps best practices and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) standards across the program.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
Experience writing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines at a medium-sized enterprise scale; includes integration of Java-based applications and scripting in Python or Bash.
Experience building, deploying, and maintaining containerized applications using Docker or Helm, with experience to perform Kubernetes application-level debugging (e.g., troubleshooting pods, services, and Helm deployments).
Active and transferable U.S. government issued TS/SCI security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience using a compiled programming language such as Java (preferred) to build or maintain large-scale software systems, and at least 2 years of experience using a scripting language like Groovy (preferred) for writing automation scripts or CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins files).
Experience managing package repositories such as Artifactory or Nexus, including the use of Maven, Helm, Docker, or YUM for custom package creation and mirroring in air-gapped or restricted environments.
Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Go
CompTIA Security +
Experience with Agile principles, to include Agile systems engineering practices and understanding of Agile roles
Technical leadership or team lead experience
Good oral and written communication skills as well as good collaboration skills and the ability to work in a team environment
