Job Description:
Basic Knowledge of Network Devices such as Switches, Routers, Wireless Access Points preferably CISCO, Riverbed

* Uses network packet diagnosis tools (e.g., wireshark) at an advanced level to diagnosis server to client and server to server performance issues o Use virtualization diagnosis tools (e.g., Foglight, Veeam) at an advanced level to resolve performance issues throughout the virtualization stack
* Document identified issues, create appropriate remediation plans, and produce root cause analyses
* Provide escalation support services for service desk and enterprise application teams Support deployment, compliance, and operation of firm security technologies across the server environment
* Ensure managed virtualization layer, operating systems, and applications are patched appropriately
* Regularly work closely with firm's security department on server regulatory compliance
* Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards, and products as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

NOTE: Bluebird Fiber is expanding our network footprint through the purchase of substantially all of the current assets of Everstream, pending final approval of a transaction currently expected to close prior to the end of this year. As part of this growth, we anticipate this position will commence in late 2025.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Solutions Engineer (SE) is a member of the Business Development Team who is responsible for clearly communicating the various products and technologies currently offered within the Bluebird Fiber product portfolio during pre and post-sales customer interactions; also responsible for post-sales customer follow-up interactions to ensure products and/or solutions work as communicated. The SE will also provide technical assistance on day-to-day solutions design and Request for Pricing (RFP) response assistance to the Bluebird Carrier Sales Teams. The SE will collaborate with Sales, Network Engineering, and Architecture teams to design, present, and implement solutions that meet customer requirements for scalability, reliability, and performance.
This position requires the ability to Develop high-level and detailed network designs for fiber-based solutions, including Ethernet, IP, MPLS, DWDM, and Dark Fiber connectivity. Ensure designs align with hyperscaler standards and customer compliance requirements. This position requires strong customer focus, strong organizational, project and matrix management skills and the ability to complete tasks in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
* 5+ years of experience in fiber network design and engineering.
* Hyperscaler connectivity experience is a plus.
* Strong understanding of networking protocols (Ethernet, IP, MPLS, BGP) and optical technologies (DWDM). Strong oral and written communications.
* Excellent communication skills for customer-facing interactions and technical presentations.
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment; occasional overnight travel required.
* Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
* General knowledge of the mechanics of Google Earth and/or outside plant tools.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
* Carrier telecommunications experience is a plus.
* Internet Service Provider experience is a plus.
