Key Responsibilities Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Produces parts from raw materials in bar or flat forms, casting and forging materials, ferrous and non-ferrous metals and plastics using various machine tools, assorted hand tools, measuring devices, tool steels and carbides. Operates a variety of machine tools, working from blueprints, sketches, specifications and oral instructions to procure tools, jobs, and fixtures. Shapes and threads parts to meet manufacturing tolerances by skillfully using a variety of standard hand tools and measuring instruments successfully. Selects feeds and speeds for cutting operations on a wide variety of materials. Grinds or dresses own cutting tools, make necessary machine shop mathematical computations as well as utilize charts, tables, standard data sets, and equipment manuals for various machines. Completes all proper and necessary steps to set up own machine, working from blueprints and instructions to perform shaping and threading of parts to manufacturing tolerances and self-inspects parts to ensure all specifications are met before sending parts to the next downstream process and performs minor repairs and adjustments to equipment as necessary. Follows safety policies and initiatives and is responsible for own safety, reports unsafe working conditions and hazards in a timely manner, participates in Corrective and Preventative Safety initiatives and investigations of incidents as well as maintains a clean, orderly work area, ensuring TDW safety standards are maintained. Experience 3-5 years of pipeline equipment manufacturing role Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to read blueprints and work to manufacturing tolerances. Knowledge of variety of tools and equipment such as engine and turret lathes, milling machines, drill presses, CNC machines and assorted hand tools. Ability to make necessary machine shop math computations. Ability to perform unassisted set-ups as well as ability to set up feeds, speeds and tools. Ability to use all precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, to perform in-process inspection of own work. Can lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to endure prolonged periods of standing, as well as the ability to work in various positions such as kneeling, crouching, bending, stooping, squatting or lying down to monitor and/or make machine adjustments or retrieve materials from different machines or processes. Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to use hands and fingers to handle, control, or feel objects and operate machine controls. Visual and auditory skills for monitoring machine operations, reading gauges, and identifying defects; hearing to respond to machine sounds and alarms. Ability to move efficiently around workstations and sometimes into tight spaces or high platforms as well as reach overhead or across work areas to adjust settings or handle products. Technical Proficiency: Capacity to operate complex machinery, which may require multitasking and quick response to changes. Awareness of surroundings and adherence to safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to sustain physical activity over an entire shift, which may involve repetitive motions or moderate physical exertion. About the role The Principal Facilities Engineer will be responsible for providing engineering support to operating the Assai Renewal Natural Gas (RNG) plant located in Throop, PA. A key asset for Archaea Energy, this facility converts landfill gas, collected at the landfill, into pipeline quality natural gas (High Btu or Renewable Natural Gas). The facility processes the landfill gas by removing the majority of the non-methane components including CO2, Nitrogen, water, sulfur and volatile and non-volatile organic compounds to attain pipeline quality gas. The support will range from plant optimization to small upgrade projects. This role will work closely with Operations and Maintenance personnel at the plant in support of achieving plant runtime and production KPI's. They will also work closely with in-house Engineering teams and 3rd party Engineering Contractors to develop workpack deliverables for plant modifications. A key accountability will be maintaining and updating Process Safety Information for the plant. The successful candidate must be able to report to the plant in Throop, PA at least 3 days per week. You must live near the site or be willing to relocate to report into the site to be considered for the role. Key Responsibilities Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: Produces parts from raw materials in bars or flat forms, casting and forging materials, ferrous and non-ferrous metals and plastics using various machine tools, assorted hand tools, measuring devices, and tool steels and carbides, Operates a variety of machine tools, working from blueprints, sketches, specifications and oral instructions to procure tools, jobs, and fixtures, Shapes and threads parts to meet manufacturing tolerances, and makes skillful use of all standard hand tools and measuring instruments to do so, Selects feeds and speeds for cutting operations on a wide variety of materials, Grinds or dresses own cutting tools, Makes necessary machine shop mathematical computations, Utilizes charts, tables, standard data sets, and equipment manuals for various machines, Works with and completes job order forms, Completes all proper and necessary steps to set up own machine, Self-inspects parts to ensure all specifications are met before sending parts to the next downstream process, Works from blueprints and instructions to perform shaping and threading of parts to manufacturing tolerances. Supports company quality initiatives and policies; Follows safety policies and initiatives and is responsible for own safety, Reports unsafe working conditions and hazards in a timely manner, Participates in Corrective and Preventative Safety initiatives and investigations of incidents Maintains a clean, orderly work area, ensuring TDW safety standards are maintained; Participates in Lean initiatives and process improvements, Assists new employees during training periods, Performs minor repairs and adjustments to equipment. Experience Minimum of 2 years vocational technical training or equivalent experience, Meets required experience, skill, and behavior competencies to make Machinist A → Master Machinist transition, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of variety of tools and equipment such as engine and turret lathes, milling machines, drill presses and assorted hand tools, Ability to read blueprints and work to manufacturing tolerances, Ability to make necessary machine shop math computations, Ability to perform unassisted set-ups, Ability to set up feeds, speeds and tools, Ability to use all precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, to perform in-process inspection of own work.
