Specific Responsibilities Mechanic II performs a variety of duties that may require a degree of skill and ability in the repair, modification and maintenance of machinery and related mechanical equipment. He/she may assist senior level mechanics in dismantling and assembling equipment/machines; repairing and replacing parts. * Responsible for Daily Operation and Maintenance of compressors, glycol dehydration unit, B-Tex unit, incinerator, slop tanks, sumps, transfer pumps, "control air" air compressors and all equipment associated with compressor facility. * Perform Daily checks, but not limited too; * Glycol PH and adjust accordingly. * Glycol pumps flow rate and pressures. * Temperatures on compressor valves, pressure readings and flow rates. * Check for proper operation of all sumps and dump valves. * Check all fluid levels and operation of lubricators. * Check air compressors, filters, oil levels, belts, pressures and bleed lines. * Check for leaks, loose bolts, vibration or unusual noises by making visual inspection at least three times per day on all equipment. * Accurately record all above information and any performed maintenance. * Become certified on CO2 line, DIG TESS, location, Right of Way, signage, valve operation etc. * Attend all DIG TESS notifications, reply accordingly and record. * Perform oil changes on all equipment in a timely manor and record. * Make notifications when problems are suspected. * Order, stock and label spare equipment needed to keep facility in operation, in an orderly fashion. * Keep facility clean and neat * Operate in a Safe and environmentally sound manner. * Stay in contact with vendors for equipment, oils, chemicals and filters for updated revisions and recommendations. * Behavioral Characteristics * Team player willing to take active role in team responsibilities. * Excellent time management skills. * Ability to learn new skills. * Willingness to share knowledge with others. * Good written and oral communication skillS * Safety * Operate in a Safe and environmentally sound manner. Collaborate with team members to analyze inspection results and develop effective repair plans. Handle, store, and organize components to prevent damage or loss. Perform reassembly of repaired or replaced components according to technical specifications and quality standards. Oversee and sign off on test runs and quality assurance checks. Operate overhead cranes, torches, grinders, and forklifts as required. Adhere to safety regulations and company HSE procedures, including proper use of PPE. Maintain a clean and organized work environment. Record parts and materials used, process requisitions, and report inventory needs. Troubleshoot mechanical issues, read prints, and determine replacement parts needed. Work overtime, nights, or weekends as required by management. Job Title: Class B-2 Mechanic Department: Fleet Maintenance Reports To: Urban Fleet Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Salary: $20.85 per hour Responsible for performing various maintenance related duties of the Urban Division of HCTD, under the direction of the HCTD Fleet Manager or designee, including but not limited to the tasks detailed below. Must perform all duties in a safe manner. Only Two positions currently available: 5am - 2pm or 11pm - 8pm ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS * Perform basic service for fleet related to running repairs, such as light bulbs, flashers, minor repairs, and, perform higher levels of service and repairs, to include brakes, suspensions, air conditioners, electrical, as skills are developed; * Support and assist in the performance of all maintenance and repairs on the vehicle fleet "in house" when possible; * Assists in making major repairs to body, chassis, engines and other component systems. * Perform basic PMI service tasks such as oil and filter changes, fluid level checks, safety inspections, and minor repairs; * Assist in the movement of vehicles, and schedule and coordinate all out-of-service vehicles with the Fleet Manager or designee; * Assist in the maintenance of cleanliness and proper appearance of vehicle fleet, passenger shelters, benches, and immediate grounds, and all office and shop space; * Assist in the assembly and placement of benches and trash containers and installation/replacement of Bus Stop route signs as required; * Assist in the maintenance and changing out of advertising displays inside and outside of buses, on passenger shelters and benches, and on other displays as directed by the Fleet Manager or designee; * Assist in preparing new vehicles for placement into service; * Diagnose and perform maintenance, service, and repair of all equipment and components of The HOP facilities, regardless of type, as directed; * Maintain an organized and orderly work area; * Maintain vehicle maintenance records as required; * Serve as lead mechanic in the absence of the Class A and direct work flow as required.
