Essential Duties and Responsibilities Works as an effective member of the Tahoe Forest Hospice Team following the direction of the manager, supervisor and senior retail associate. Works with customers handling cash and credit card transactions at the cash register. Comfortably answers customer questions regarding shopping and donations procedures. Stocks floor as requested, bringing stocking concerns to the attention of management. Addresses concerns as directed. Works with management to see that daily store upkeep is maintained: includes regularly vacuuming and dusting the store, straightening racks, and organizing and displaying product as needed. Responsible for seeing that the register counter, dressing rooms and retail floor space are kept clean and organized. Tags and prices products at the register as directed by Manager or Supervisors. Provide inpatient hospital care, including admission histories and physicals, daily rounds / patient visits, procedures, discharges, and other appropriate care in accordance with approved clinical privileges, Hospital and Medical Staff policies, bylaws and rules and regulations. Order appropriate status within the Hospital according to the Two-Midnight Rule and nationally recognized admission criteria. Discuss end of life preferences with patients, family and significant others who need to know. Refer patients to medical specialists, social services or other professionals as appropriate. Conduct timely discharge planning and discharge patients. Coordinate care and communicate frequently with primary care physicians, case managers and other team members as appropriate. Respond to Code Blue/White and other emergencies. Perform daily bedside multidisciplinary rounding on all patients on the Medicine service. Serve as the physician on-call for residents in the Extended Care Center (ECC) during evening and weekend hours or when the ECC Medical Director is on vacation during hospitalist scheduled days. Function as the Medicine Consultant to all areas of the Hospital, including timely consultations to the Emergency Department, surgeon and other Medical Staff members upon request. Along with other members of the Hospitalist team, provide on-call coverage for shifts as assigned, on-site or off-site by telephone, responding within time frames established by the Medical Staff for emergency, urgent and routine requests.
