Nature of Work:
Responsible for the implementation and management of player identification & recruitment program for the Rapids Academy. The candidate should embody the club's core values of excellence, authenticity, boldness, integrity, passion, unity and be committed to fostering a culture of community/one club ethos.
Examples of work performed:
Implement and oversee Academy Talent Identification and Recruitment Plan
Develop an annual Academy scouting calendar to align with Academy recruitment policy
Manage Academy contract scouts locally, regionally & nationally.
Regularly update and manage Academy Talent Identification database
Collaborate with Academy operations & coaching staff to coordinate on-site trials for prospective players within player recruitment policies and guidelines. Assume primary role in hosting players, parents & coaches.
Screen trialists and work with player welfare to evaluate players suitability for homestay programming/online schooling and to align with club values.
Attend Rapids 2, Academy & Futures training sessions to ensure appropriate benchmarking of players.
Coordinate Talent ID events 2 x per year for Futures & Academy.
Manage Academy player interest database.
Create recruiting/educational materials that showcase the benefits of participation in the Colorado Rapids Academy
Manage correspondence and recruitment of prospective players
Understand and adhere to all club and MLS Next Scouting and Recruitment Policies

Qualifications:
Minimum
BS/BA degree in field or related field
Minimum of a USSF āCā Coaching License.
Previous experience as a Scout in a professional youth Academy or College program highly desired
USSF Talent Scout Licensed preferred but not required
Professional playing experience preferred but not required.
Material and Equipment Used:
General office equipment including copier, fax, phone, computer/keyboard, etc. Company vehicles.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid driver's license and meet company vehicle driving standards.
Including being a licensed driver for 3+ years
Competencies/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to analyze techniques, tactics, physical and psychological components of soccer.
Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate and educate youth players and youth coaching staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in Spanish language highly desired but not mandatory
Experience with video analysis via Hudl or Sportscode preferred.
Organizational and Personnel Management:
Knowledge regarding scouting in the US Soccer landscape.
Knowledge of MLS Homegrown Player requirements.
Ability to create spreadsheets and routine business correspondence using Word and Excel software.
Ability to prioritize responsibilities and multi-task effectively.
Knowledge of professional sports team operations, public relations, and/or sponsor relations is preferred.
Ability to acquire or produce and maintain a valid Colorado driver's license and meet company vehicle driving standards.
Compensation:
Base salary range $55,000.00 per annum
