Under general supervision, following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, delivers nursing care to patients. Plans and implements nursing care; documents nursing assessments; identifies and reports situations requiring further intervention; formulates and communicates goal-directed plan of care; assures patient rights. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital and principles of quality improvement.

This is a Full-time, Days opportunity. This role requires call with a 30-minute response time and qualifies for competitive call and differential pay.
As a Registered Nurse in the Main Operating Room, you will work closely with physicians and all operating room teams. This Registered Nurse will check-in and receive patient assignments. A day in the life of this Operating Room Registered Nurse will vary based on scheduled surgeries. This RN may work with a singular patient in a complex case or may work with multiple patients having shorter procedures. This RN will work as a Circulating Nurse and will meet patients in the OR and remain with them for the duration of their procedure to ensure they are appropriately cared for until transferred to PACU care. As a Registered Nurse Circulator, you will be the patient's primary advocate and responsible for the delivery and documentation of patient care during the intra-operative period. This may include verifying patient information, positioning the patient, managing the room, and initiating counts.
As a RN in the OR your responsibilities will include:
* Providing for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement organization
* Supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services
* Including patients and significant other (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
* Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
* Coordination and preparation of assigned room/case, assessment of patient care needs and the anticipation of needs of the case
* This role requires call, weekend, and holiday coverage

As a Registered Nurse in the Main Operating Room, you will work closely with physicians and all operating room teams. This Registered Nurse will check-in and receive patient assignments. A day in the life of this Operating Room Registered Nurse will vary based on scheduled surgeries. Under general supervision, following established policies, procedures, and professional guidelines, delivers nursing care to patients. Plans and implements nursing care; documents nursing assessments; identifies and reports situations requiring further intervention; formulates and communicates goal-directed plan of care; assures patient rights. Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of Tampa General Hospital and principles of quality improvement.
* Knowledge of assessment techniques and diagnostic tools
* Ability to conduct thorough assessments, interpret clinical data, and apply critical thinking to respond to changes in patient condition
* Knowledge of evidence-based practices for care planning
* Skill in developing, implementing, and modifying patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team, ensuring effective care coordination
* Understanding of patient education principles and ability to provide clear, personalized education to patients and families and assess their comprehension to ensure understanding and compliance
* Knowledge of outcome measurement and quality improvement processes
* Ability to evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans based on patient responses, contributing to ongoing improvement initiatives

Education
* Associate's Degree Nursing
