Position Summary: The Shipper assembles orders and prepares goods for shipment while comparing identifying information and counts, weights, or measurements of items to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records. Shipper Duties and Responsibilities: Reviews and follows all MOP's and SWI's. Determines method of shipment and packaging for small parts, hardware, and fab parts, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Preps completed parts for shipping by loading parts to skids with crane assistance. Builds shipping skids with air compressed equipment following company policy and procedures. Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers for shipments. Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers. Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications and manifests. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. May operate a lift truck or hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping to trailers for outgoing shipments. Keeps work area clean and swept. May perform other duties as assigned. Shipper Skills and Specifications: Knowledge and ability to use electronic databases (EPICOR/MES). Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to safely operate and obtain certification to operate a fork truck. Ability to safely operate an overhead crane. Strong computer data entry skills. Solid problem-solving skills. Ability to contribute and work in a team environment. Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure first quality of work. During this process, the machine operator is responsible for verifying measurements, such as thread depth and correct taper (30%) * After the threads are cut the operator tests the flange to make sure it screws onto the pipe properly. Adjustments are made to the threads if an issue occurs (10%) * Applies glue on pipe and flange and uses the machine to tighten the flange onto the pipe (20%) * Runs the cutting tool across the surface of the face of the flange to flush fit the flange onto the pipe (30%) * Remove pipe from machine and place on boards (5%) * Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Good with math, able to read a tape measure and micrometer * Ability to understand machinery processes * Consistent attendance, ability to get to work on time, every day * Team player, willingness to work when needed, help out and volunteer for extras * Positive, enthusiastic and helpful Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent desired * Previous experience with machinery is desired * Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: * Since this is a heavy industrial environment there will be exposure to Fabrication Shop operations.
