Duties and Responsibilities
The Shuttle Bus Driver reports to the Security and Transportation Manager and is an hourly, non-exempt position.
The Shuttle Bus Driver responsible for supplying transportation services to students and performing general maintenance duties throughout the center.
The Shuttle Bus Driver transports students by van, shuttle bus and automobile to various vocational sites, medical centers, recreational activities, courts, etc.
Inspects and reports on the mechanical condition of vehicles.
Maintains accurate and complete trip reports of each use of any vehicle.
When not performing the duties of the Shuttle Bus Driver will perform alarm and patrol duties in assigned areas to protect life and property against theft, misappropriation, vandalism, fire, flood, or similar disaster, suspicious acts and/or persons, and other unusual conditions.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Six months work-related experience preferred.
Valid State driver's license and an acceptable driving record required.
Preferred Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
Additional Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification. Ability to operate power tools. Ability to effectively relate to trainee population. Ability to fluently read and write English. Position requires an ability to operate power tools. In addition, individual must be able to interact with team members and. maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments.

CDL Truck Driver Job Requirements:
Valid Class A CDL
Double/Triple endorsement required; Tanker & Hazmat preferred
Minimum 23 Years of age
1-year experience operating a combination vehicle. Less experience will be considered on an individual basis and may require an extended training period.

Proficient in performing tasks in rapid succession, handling stressful situations, making quick decisions, and reacting
Ability to crawl on hands and knees to open and close bottom hatches on the underside of the trailer
Occasionally lift, carry, pull, push, and/or move up to 70 pounds
Requires constant climbing of stairs and/or ladders, working at elevations of 14 feet above the ground
The ability to sit, drive, shift gears and stay awake for long periods of time
