We are searching for a Lead CDL Driver to join our growing team. This role is responsible for a variety of tasks to support and lead transportation operations. As a Driver, this role will complete accurate and timely deliveries while maintaining the highest of standards for safety and customer service. As a Lead, this role will also support the ops management team with oversight of daily transportation duties such as driver road tests, training new hires, DOT compliance, leading team huddles and other tasks as assigned. Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm Responsibilities Include: Assist with daily oversight of transportation operations, ensuring routes and deliveries are prioritized and completed safely and efficiently. Act as a resource to Drivers for training and guidance. Operate a straight truck, box truck or CMV (26,001 + pounds) to transport products to customer locations on assigned delivery route . Learn and optimize routes, ensure correct order fulfillment, and maintain proper documentation (BOLs, manifests, packing slips, HazMat summaries). Conduct daily vehicle inspections (DVIR), report issues immediately, and maintain cleanliness inside and out of assigned vehicle. Follow all OSHA, DOT, FMCSA and company policies, complete required safety training and properly handle HazMat materials. Communicate effectively with team members and management, attend department meetings, and contribute to a positive work environment. Wear company apparel as required, maintain a neat appearance and effectively communicate with dispatch and customers. Take personal ownership of all customer needs with speed and urgency. Maintain the highest level of customer service. Assist with preparing orders, loading/unloading, stocking inventory, and general warehouse tasks as needed. Additional duties as assigned. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: A minimum of 3 years of experience as a route delivery driver operating a straight truck, box truck, or CMV (26,001 + pounds) Experience as a team lead or supervisor, preferred Valid Class A drivers' license. Safe Driving History with the ability to pass a DOT Physical. Basic computer proficiency skills. Excellent Customer Relation Skills. Ability to read and write English. Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required lift up to 50lbs and push/pull 100lbs. Regularly sit in a truck and drive a company vehicle. Driving: Driving on a regular basis on behalf of the company is an essential function of this role. A valid driver's license and safe driving history is required Compensation & Benefits: The pay range for this role is $27.00- $32.00 per hour. After your 30 day training you'll come home and choose one of many open positions. Most are OTR runs. However after 30 days we do offer other positions once you get your foot in the door. We offer OTR Regional and Local positions. At this time we are needing to hire 23 positions for entry level drivers with little or no OTR experience, like yourself. These positions offer great pay, excellent benefits and many home time options. Once you completed training you will be expected to run OTR getting home every 10-14 days. Many openings are regional as well getting home more often. There are no contracts to sign. You're free to change positions when openings come available. The application and hiring process, as well as the job details: After our HR staff receives your application, we will reach out to you and conduct a short phone interview to pre-qualify you. Once we determine that you qualify, we will then review all of the job details with you and move you forward with the application process. In your interview we will help you fill out part 1 of our application. Then we will email you a link to complete the second part on your own. Once your application will be reviewed by an administrator processor. We will then be reaching out to you regarding your approval. At this point you are approved for onboarding, you will then be scheduled for driver orientation. Transportation to orientation will be by bus on us or you can drive yourself and we will reimburse you for your gas. Your breakfast is provided at the hotel and lunch will be catered in. Once orientation is complete, you will officially be hired and go out with a driver trainer for 4 weeks. You will stay out the whole month training all over the country. The goal is to build your confidence behind the wheel and turn you into a excellent safe Class A Driver. You will be paid $650 a week during this time. After you have completed your OTR training, you will then meet with a terminal manager to choose a run. You will then become a regular driver and move into a FT position. Your pay will increase to anywhere from $1,300 - $1,600+ per week (depending on the position you choose). Home times will vary depending on the run.
