Essential Functions
Safely operate company vehicles to transport ADH participants to/from the program, medical appointments, and community outings.
Ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of all passengers at all times.
Complete transportation routes on schedule and communicate any delays or route deviations to the facility.
Interact courteously and professionally with participants, coworkers, families, and the public.
Maintain assigned vehicles following company policy and safety standards.
Use safe transfer and mobility-assistance techniques when helping participants enter/exit the vehicle.
Conduct vehicle safety checks and immediately report any concerns or violations to the ADH Program Director.
Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the assigned vehicle.
Coordinate necessary vehicle repairs with an approved repair provider.
Record accurate daily mileage logs, including time of departure/return and destinations.
When not driving, assist ADH staff with participant activities, meals, and general program support.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements
Valid driver's license with at least 1 year of driving experience
Clean driving record; must pass DOT physical and urine drug screen (including marijuana testing)
Comfortable operating minivans, passenger vans, and wheelchair vans
Experience using 12-passenger vans and wheelchair lifts strongly preferred
Ability to read maps and follow assigned routes
Ability to relate to and work with adults with disabilities, chronic conditions, and/or elderly populations
Previous experience in healthcare, caregiving, human services, or working with individuals with disabilities is strongly preferred
Must be punctual, dependable, and professional

How you will make an impact
Transport residents, staff, and visitors on scheduled and unscheduled appointments
Operate non-CDL passenger buses, vans, and sedans; vehicles equipped with wheelchair ramps and lifts

What you will need
Previous transportation services experience preferred
Valid State driver's license. This license must be maintained as a condition of employment.

Job Summary
Ensures the highest level of excellence of support and training is provided to individuals with development disabilities. Transportation Responsibilities:
Transporting individuals to homes, businesses, and agency sites.
Operate and maintain transportation vehicles with a focus on safety and consumer courtesy. Practice defensive driving
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Keep assigned vehicles clean.
Fuel the vehicles, as assigned.
Maintain accurate, up to date records on trip sheets, consumer transportation forms, vehicle maintenance, fuel purchases, incident reports, accident reports, vehicle condition reports and other records that are requested.
Assist individuals in and out of the vehicle ensuring that all required safety equipment is utilized in the process of transporting consumers. This will include, but may not be limited to, operating ramps, lifts, and utilizing securement devices, as needed.
Read and interpret maps and driving directions to take the most efficient route and interpret road signs in English.
Responds immediately to accidents or medical emergencies by notifying emergency response providers and rendering First Aid and/or CPR until emergency personnel arrive.
Understand and adheres to Minute Man Arc's Vehicle Safety and Driving Record Evaluations Policy.
Qualifications
Experience in the human services field a plus.
Valid drivers' license and an acceptable driving record.
Obtain, and maintain, certification in First Aid, CPR, and Drivers' Safety and other mandated trainings.
Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of individuals verbally.
Must be able to work independently while demonstrating effective time management, organizational, and planning skills.
Education and Experience
High school diploma / GED and 1-year experience working with individuals with disabilities
A valid driver's license and a minimum of one year of driving experience with a safe driving record.
In programs requiring pre-employment drug testing, identified employees will undergo drug testing for marijuana, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines and phencyclidines (PCP). These individuals will also be required to undergo testing upon reasonable suspicion of being under the influence and after any accident whenever consumers are on board at the time of the accident. Post-accident testing for alcohol must occur within 8 hours of the accident and drug testing within 32 hours of the accident.
