    We are seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our Inpatient Palliative Care Team. Job Duties & Responsibilities * Support patients and family members during the medical decision-making process and grief experiences. * Collect and analyze medical information (assessment, diagnostic testing results, and prognostic indicators); develop prognosis and treatment plan for patients. * Maintain appropriate documentation and dictation of inpatient medical records. * Participate in advanced care planning and education of patients, families, and the community. * Promote clinical competency through interdisciplinary education for staff related to the service. * Serve as a consultant for the nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers * Coordinate with palliative physicians during consultations for hospitalized patients with symptom management needs or goals of care clarification. * Communicate with patients, family, palliative care interdisciplinary team, and other health care team members. * Maintain up-to-date knowledge for evidence-based practice in palliative medicine Job Eligibility Requirements Education & Licensure * Requires completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, with a master's degree in nursing. * Active GA APRN license or meet criteria for obtaining licensure. * CAPC certified or must obtain within two years of employment. Experience * Prior nursing experience in critical care, oncology, or cardiology specialty area preferred. * New graduates are welcome to apply. Order and interpret test results and recommend treatment of patients. Administer therapeutic procedures. Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval. Provide physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures. Demonstrates specialty and population specific competencies. Demonstrates an ability to effectively communicate based on specific specialty and population. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervising physician. * Quality: Maintains evidence based medical care and clinical charting. Participates with clinical tracking and feedback. Integrates with clinical and administrative teams to administer high quality care. * Teamwork: Works well with others and functions as a team player. Offers ideas and solutions for issues that affect the team and work area. Participates in the training and skills development of new clinical staff. Assists as needed.
