Job Description
The Finishing Operator has responsibility for functions occurring within the finishing center operations. The Finishing Operator may be assigned to duties that include packaging slit rolls to customer specifications, operating the manual packaging line, cutting cores, banding, etc . This requires the understanding of Avery Dennison standard packaging practices, and the Exact program packing requirements. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Activities and duties may vary depending upon site specific needs. Essential functions may include, but are not limited to:
Sort, label, and package finished goods for shipment per customer specifications, quality requirements, and standard practices
Inspect general appearance of finished product
Keep area supplied with necessary packaging materials
Prepare cores for machine operators
Communicate and coordinate necessary information to appropriate shift/department personnel to ensure effective operations
Track multiple orders being packed at one time.

Wages for Finishing Machine Operator start at $23.50 per hour up to $28.75 per hour depending on skill level and experience.

JOB SUMMARY: The person who occupies this position is expected to adjust gluing machines in order to process a flat carton order and oversee its production (complex glue experience a plus).
JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to, the following.
* The operator is responsible for adjusting glue machinery to fit the particular style of carton being processed.
* Once production begins, the operator is responsible for maintaining machinery at optimum speed. When malfunctions occur, the operator is to be able to detect the cause and make appropriate adjustments as quickly as possible.
* The operator is responsible for the members of the crew working on gluer machinery. Is fully responsible in ensuring team members are working efficiently and safely. The operator is also responsible for training feeder/catcher trainees as necessary.
* Must assume duties of the Feeder or Inspector when those persons are on breaks (see job description for Feeder/Catcher). The Operator performs the activities of Feeder/Inspector for approximately 2 hours per day.
* Responsible for performing maintenance duties on gluer machinery; greasing, oiling, blowing off machinery, glue pot maintenance, bearing and belt replacement, and cleaning parts.
* Able to maintain written and electronic (SAP) records of quality and production, and Ignition software. Operator goes through hourly statistical measurements (carton alignment, edge caliper, opening force, glue length, etc.)
* Responsible for making labels per customer specs.
* Ability and Positive attitude to teach and help fellow operators to troubleshoot all problems when called upon to do so.
BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:
* 1-2 years of machine operator experience required
* Mechanical/technical aptitude
* Entry-level computer skills
* All requirements for Machine Gluer Operator in addition to the ability to set up and troubleshoot Leary, Mactron, Alpina, and Pafra glue systems
* Feeder/Inspector experience preferred. Mechanical experience is helpful (automotive, small engine repair, etc.)

The Finishing Operator has responsibility for functions occurring within the finishing center operations. Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

**JOB SUMMARY:** The person who occupies this position is expected to adjust gluing machines in order to process a flat carton order and oversee its production (complex glue experience a plus).
**JOB FUNCTIONS:** _Job functions include, but are not limited to, the following._
+ The operator is responsible for adjusting glue machinery to fit the particular style of carton being processed.
+ Once production begins, the operator is responsible for maintaining machinery at optimum speed. When malfunctions occur, the operator is to be able to detect the cause and make appropriate adjustments as quickly as possible.
+ The operator is responsible for the members of the crew working on gluer machinery. Is fully responsible in ensuring team members are working efficiently and safely. The operator is also responsible for training feeder/catcher trainees as necessary.
+ Must assume duties of the Feeder or Inspector when those persons are on breaks (see job description for Feeder/Catcher). The Operator performs the activities of Feeder/Inspector for approximately 2 hours per day.
+ Responsible for performing maintenance duties on gluer machinery; greasing, oiling, blowing off machinery, glue pot maintenance, bearing and belt replacement, and cleaning parts.
+ Able to maintain written and electronic (SAP) records of quality and production, and Ignition software. Operator goes through hourly statistical measurements (carton alignment, edge caliper, opening force, glue length, etc.)
+ Responsible for making labels per customer specs.
+ Ability and Positive attitude to teach and help fellow operators to troubleshoot all problems when called upon to do so.
**BACKGROUND / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS:**
+ 1-2 years of machine operator experience required
+ Mechanical/technical aptitude
+ Entry-level computer skills
+ All requirements for Machine Gluer Operator in addition to the ability to set up and troubleshoot Leary, Mactron, Alpina, and Pafra glue systems
