GENERAL SUMMARY:
Performs a wide variety of customer service duties, serving as TARC's central call center, including responding to a variety of telephone inquiries from those seeking information regarding bus schedules, trip planning, and paratransit services; promotes favorable relationships through an attitude of interest and concern with each caller. This position will support a safety and customer service culture through programs, procedures, and other related work to achieve TARC's mission and strategic outcomes. The position is responsible for meeting or exceeding all TARC policies and procedures with strict adherence to all local, state, and federal regulations; and performing related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs clerical and administrative duties in support of customer service activities and operations to fixed route and paratransit callers.
Researches and resolves issues or complaints on customers' behalf.
Serves fixed route callers; provides accurate bus and transfer times; reports late bus and detour information to customers; provides accurate routing information for all TARC fixed route systems; and enters all customer comments and complaints.
Serves paratransit callers; accurately negotiates and reserves paratransit trips; explains TARC3 Riders' Guide policies; confirms customers' personal and trip information; enters customer comments and complaints accurately into the software.
Mails and faxes bus schedules to customers.
Researches, collects, and compiles information regarding customer service programs and activities; prepares summaries, reports, correspondence, and other material.
Maintains a variety of hard copy and/or electronic documents and records; enters, retrieves, and updates data and information in various systems.
Uses reference material effectively to provide guidance on headway sheets, online mapping services, and TARC's website.
Performs other job-related duties as requested.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or GED
One (1) year of experience in a customer service role.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Telephone and office etiquette, including skills required for public contact.
Principles and practices of effective customer service.
General operation of the TARC service area for fixed route and paratransit.
Research and reporting methods, techniques, and procedures.

Drives coach to transport passengers to designated points, over specified routes within TARC's operating area in the safest possible manner; and according to time schedule.

Operates assigned coach to transport passengers to designated points in the safest and most efficient manner, while maintaining the schedule and route assigned.
Validates accurate fares and passes; collects and distributes transfer tickets.
Totals transfers, records total on transfer envelope; and turns in envelope daily.
Complies with local traffic regulations and uses two-way radio to report delays, accidents or mechanical failures.
Maintains logs/envelopes to record routes, changes, etc.

The Coach Operator works alone in the operation of the vehicle. He or she may perform repetitive routes and must perform under the stress of different routes which are influenced by the passengers (volume), time of day, scheduling, time of month, season/weather, etc.
Coach Operators must also be prepared to respond to real and/or perceived emergency situations, including those that are true life-threatening situations. Among other judgmental calls, the operators must be able to distinguish between a true vs perceived emergency situation and act accordingly. Therefore, the position requires the objective adaptability to make generalizations, evaluations or decisions based on measurable or verifiable criteria. The Campus Recreation lifeguard position is established to ensure the safety of our patrons and participants. This includes accident prevention in the water and surrounding deck areas by enforcing facility policies. Lifeguards must also maintain the proper certifications and physical fitness required by industry standards. All in-service training sessions and staff meetings are mandatory.
Primary Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of a lifeguard are facility supervision and maintenance. Other responsibilities include (but are not limited to) educating guests on rules and regulations, following verbal and written directions, removal of safety hazards from facility, completion of required records, daily cleaning assignments, punctual attendance for shifts, communication with peers and faculty/staff, and required attendance at all in-service trainings.
Qualifications
American Red Cross Lifeguard Certified with CPR/AED for the professional rescuer or YMCA Lifeguard Certified with ASHI CPR/AED for the professional and Standard First Aid.
Bloodborne Pathogens and Administering Emergency Oxygen Certifications highly recommended.
Water Safety Instructor or equivalent certification a plus.
Any candidate who is offered this position will be required to go through a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.

The Communication and Engagement Student Assistant will support the departments by planning and implementing a strong social media and web engagement initiative. This position will collaborate with the Director of First-Year Experience and Programming and the FYE Event and Marketing Assistant to develop and implement event-specific social media marketing strategies and assess program reception through platform data review for the First-Year Experience office. This position will be partially virtual, with required in-office and work meetings. The position will collaborate with the Events and Marketing Assistant and the FYE Program Assistant.

* Assist in the development of a social media strategy.

* Design, review, and update promotional social platform materials.

* Take University offered Web Editing Training after being hired.
* Maintain and update web content
* Detail-oriented, proofing and revising website for minimal errors.
* Meeting with FYP faculty to update and revise content.
