Position Responsibilities:
* Performs work as a team with other Take Off associates, Mill Operators, and Extrusion Operators
* Assures finished product quality by visual alertness to surface defects, measuring dimensions and color check or saving samples for color checking.
* Records production counts, scrap, downtown, etc. on forms and computer as required
* Train new employees

What this role will be responsible for:
Working directly with production team members, team leaders, and other team members in resolving operating concerns real-time utilizing lean problem solving methodologies
Reading and interpreting work instructions (routers) and ensures that they are performed completed correctly during the manufacturing process. Providing guidance to team leaders and production associates on their correct usage
Performing quality inspections on in-process production using quality/color measuring equipment and providing final quality disposition
Completing inspection processes on incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual observations, completing laboratory tests, and providing final disposition of inspected material
Performing final product inspections and audits as required to ensure defects are identified and correctly categorized
Providing guidance and training to production associates and team leaders on completing quality/color inspections and recording inspection data
Providing assistance to validate corrective actions subsequent effectiveness
Identify opportunities for improvements throughout the facility including creating standard operating procedures
Experience & Education Desired:
3+ years in a in a manufacturing environment. Quality experience is preferred, but not required including a basic understanding of manufacturing production process. An extrusion background is preferred
High School Diploma or Equivalent and must be able to pass a color blindness test to discern variations in color
Currently possess or be able to quickly learn basic problem-solving capabilities in a manufacturing environment
Basic math, good technical aptitude, and can learn new manufacturing processes quickly
Basic computer experience and the ability to learn and operate quality/color measurement software, SAP or ERP experience is an asset
Self-driven and possess the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment without supervision including excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills

Trouble shoot hydraulic systems, including repair or replacement of hydraulic valves and pumps, replace or repair broken gear boxes, re-engineer problem machines, design changes done to equipment, change and make knife blades, knowledge of rigging
Weld molds and make guide pins for molds; make and repair hinges and heat platinum
Service tow motors and electric forklifts which includes maintaining battery charges, belts, horns, lights, wiring, tires, and hoses
Maintain or repair the boiler/compressor, roof, and HVAC systems
Start various pumps, compressors, blowers, chillers, presses to ensure production can begin at any given time
May be assigned duties included in other trade classifications
Must be responsible for observing all safety rules and regulations

Program Design & Innovation:

Tarkett, a growing leader in flooring solutions, is seeking a talented, customer-focused Process Engineer to service the Chagrin Falls PVC Facility. This role is primarily responsible for leading manufacturing development initiatives across multiple departments, as well as supporting World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Lean, and Six Sigma processes throughout the facility. The Process Engineer will drive improvements in process efficiency and reduced operating costs by combining lean methods with data collection and analysis. This position reports into the Engineering Manager and partners with Production, Quality, Safety, Procurement and Maintenance Departments to eliminate process variation and execute cost reduction opportunities with a focus on Safety and Professional Maintenance.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Own process definition in the plant and drive initiatives to improve process control
Drive improvements in productivity, quality (internal and external), and standardization
Integrate and document engineered solutions
Develop solutions to support ongoing manufacturing and equipment safety initiatives
Collaborate cross functionally with technical and production team to ensure that the production process aligns with the specified production outputs
Lead small to medium scale cross functional process improvement teams and projects to meet timelines and project goals
Support Senior Engineer on large scale projects to implement best practices, standard work, and process controls
Develop business cases and write Capital Appropriation Requests including project cost and justification with payback & ROI calculations to support operational needs
Provide technical expertise to internal and external customers
Providing and maintaining a safe working environment and encouraging safe work practices
Collaborate with Maintenance and Die Shop to provide a safe and efficient production environment
Create and/or update plant or machinery drawings as needed to support process improvements
Negotiate with and oversee suppliers and contractors on equipment installation, redesign, and troubleshooting.
Establish and maintain documentation and electronic files necessary to support the business unit. (SOPs, SMPs, Risk Assessments, etc.)
Perform other duties as assigned.
ReQUIREMENTS:
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
BS degree in Engineering or Plastics Field, related technical degree, or equivalent experience
3+ years of related experience
Proven development and implementation of process control procedures
Experience leading capital projects and managing process improvement efforts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, to establish root cause and implement sustainable corrective actions
Strong computer skills (MS Office programs)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Possess a collaborative, customer focused attitude
Promote a safety driven culture
Preferred Knowledge / Experience:
Experience with PVC extrusion processes
Experience with extrusion equipment and controls (Davis Standard, Cincinnati Milacron, and/or Kraus Maffei)

A key objective of this role is to help the organization shift from a model that relies on frequent exceptions and manual effort to push transactions through toward a process-based, standardized, and preventative operating model. Today, many procurement activities require significant “muscling” to complete due to irregularities, inconsistent inputs, or process gaps. The goal is to reduce this reliance on manual intervention by building disciplined, predictable workflows that minimize exceptions, improve efficiency, and support consistent execution.
This role combines hands-on purchasing responsibilities with process analysis, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement. The Specialist serves as a connection point between Procurement, Finance, Shared Services, and Operations-leveraging purchasing expertise, system and data knowledge, and structured problem-solving to elevate process reliability, reduce exceptions, and deliver measurable business value.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & P2P Operations
Manage the full P2P lifecycle, including SRM shopping cart review, PR to PO creation, supplier confirmations, and invoice exception resolution through PDAP ReadSoft workflows.
Serve as first-level SRM approver, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with procurement standards.
Act as primary liaison between internal clients and suppliers to address pricing, delivery, quality, or performance concerns.
Review and route purchase requests to contracted suppliers; partner with Category Managers to identify compliant, cost-effective solutions for non-contracted spend.
Maintain and update purchase orders, including vendor confirmations, Annual POs, open POs, and aged POs to ensure system accuracy and alignment with business needs.
Track, document, and manage purchasing workflows, proactively driving actions to ensure timely resolution and reduce workflow volume.
Invoice, Investment, and Contract Management
Lead investigation and resolution of invoice discrepancies and blocked invoices through structured problem-solving.
Support the Investment Approval Form (IAF) workflow by coordinating with Finance and Project Owners, ensuring timely approvals, budget alignment, and compliant documentation.
Perform monthly reviews of open/aged POs to reconcile commitments, optimize cash flow visibility, and ensure alignment to contract terms.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of blanket purchase orders, capital investment POs, and related contract requirements.
Partner with Finance and Procurement teams to ensure accurate reporting and financial capture of investment orders and associated spend.
Process Analysis & Continuous Improvement
Analyze P2P, SRM, and workflow performance data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and systemic issues.
Develop, maintain, and monitor KPI dashboards that measure operational efficiency, SLA adherence, and process compliance.
Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on recurring issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Lead or support continuous improvement projects focused on cycle time reduction, workflow elimination, error prevention, and process standardization.
Support digital transformation initiatives by identifying opportunities for automation and improved utilization of SAP, SRM, PDAP, Celonis, and related tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Procurement, Finance, and Shared Services to align analytics, reporting, and process optimization efforts with organizational KPIs.
Provide analytical support for category strategy development, supplier performance reviews, and sourcing initiatives such as RFPs, RFIs, and supplier rationalization.
Collaborate with Shared Services teams to translate data insights into actionable process enhancements.
Communicate performance trends, improvement recommendations, and workflow status through structured dashboards, presentations, and regular updates.
Qualifications
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or a related field.
4+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, P2P operations, accounts payable, or shared services.
Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
Working knowledge of SAP, SRM, and ReadSoft PDAP.
Ability to interpret and communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders across functions.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting IAF or capital investment workflows.
Experience in Process Analysis tools such as Celonis.
