The Assistant Director will be responsible for implementing and maintaining procedures and processes related to field experience placements in partnership with school districts. This role also supports TEA compliance and certification documentation and serves as a primary user and administrator of the Educator Portal system. The position reports to the Director of Educator Certification and Academic Services.
This is a 12-month non-tenure-track position located on Tarleton's main campus in Stephenville, Texas. Work hours: Mon-Fri; 8 AM-5 PM or as job demands require. May be assigned to teach at various campus locations or through approved instructional modalities, as determined by the institution based on operational needs. Some travel may be required. Serves as Campus Security Authority (CSA). This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate excellence and innovation in teaching, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, participate in the necessary operation of the institution, and provide administrative leadership for educator certification and field placement processes as part of their teaching responsibilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
60% Administrative:
* Coordinate and secure field placements for Tarleton's educator preparation students across all campuses.
* Verify student completion of all required field experiences and manage related TEA documentation.
* Submit certification data to TEA and confirm completions through state systems.
* Assign University Field Supervisors and assist with Clinical Teacher Orientation and Teacher Job Fairs.
* Maintain and support the Educator Portal, including application workflows and student status tracking.
* Serve as liaison to school districts and Tarleton faculty for all educator certification and placement processes.
* Troubleshoot data and access issues related to the Aggie Portal.
* Compile data for TEA reports, audits, and internal quality assurance purposes.
* Deliver user training and provide ongoing support for Educator Portal implementation and fidelity.
40% Teaching and Service:
* Teach two courses (6 semester credit hours) in each of the fall and spring semesters within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction or Educational Leadership and Technology.
* Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and/or laboratory offerings to undergraduate and/or graduate students.
* Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design assessments such as exams, quizzes, papers, etc.
* Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate student learning outcomes to inform teaching practices and curriculum improvements.
* Engage students in active learning, foster critical thinking skills, and provide opportunities for discussion, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
* Provide academic support and guidance to students through office hours, feedback on assignments, and mentoring.
* Adhere to university policies, academic integrity standards, and accreditation requirements related to teaching responsibilities.
* Incorporate innovative teaching methods, technologies, and pedagogical approaches to enhance student learning and engagement.
* Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay current in the field, improve teaching skills, and explore new instructional strategies.
* Collaborate with colleagues, departmental faculty, and university staff to coordinate course offerings, share resources, and contribute to program development and improvement.
* Participate in institutional service roles including but not limited to, college committees, advisory committees, student/faculty recruitment, and mentoring of new and part-time faculty.
Minimum Requirements:
* Earned doctoral degree in Education or a closely related field from an accredited university.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
Preferred Requirements:
* Minimum of three years' experience working in or with public school systems.
* Experience managing data systems or educational portals is strongly valued.
* Ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse educational settings.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

These part-time Adjunct Faculty positions are designed to support our growing student enrollment for the 2025-2026 Academic Year at our Fort Worth campus. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include contributing to shared administrative and recruitment tasks, and active participation in departmental and/or college-wide committees. Experience working with first-generation students is highly desirable.

This is a nine-month, tenure track position that reports to the Head of the Department of Agricultural Sciences. WTAMU is located in the Texas Panhandle, one of the largest cattle feeding areas in the world (6 million head annually), and one of the most prolific crop-producing areas in the world, (14 million acres of cultivated cropland), both of which are multi-billion dollars industries. The highest total value crops in the region are wheat, corn, ensilage, hay, sorghum and cotton. The position will focus on the various aspects of agricultural economics including but not limited to management, marketing, finance, policy, trade, and retail sales and will provide support to the current academic track to increase the enrollment at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. WTAMU is a four-year academic institution with more than 9,000 students including more than 1,150 students in the department granting Bachelor, Master of Science, Master of Agriculture, and Doctoral degrees. The department offers the following degrees related to the discipline: B.S. degree in Agribusiness, B.S. degree in Agricultural Business and Economics, M.S. in Agriculture with an emphasis in Agricultural Business and Economics, M.Ag, and a Ph.D. in Systems Agriculture.
Work Performed:
Teach a minimum of 9 hours per long semester. Teaching opportunities may include face-to-face and/or online formats.
Contribute to a strong teaching program in the agricultural economics/agribusiness area with emphasis in at least one of the following areas: production and resource management, finance, international trade, policy, or management.
Develop a research program in an area of agricultural economics/agribusiness.
Secure extramural funding for research and scholarly activities.
Advise M.S. and Ph.D. graduate students in various areas of Agricultural Business and Economics.
Publish research findings and syntheses in refereed journals.
Develop collaborative programs with scientists in other agencies, universities, and the agriculture industry.
Develop strong industry relationships with agribusiness professionals in the region/state.
Foster employment opportunities for both undergraduate and graduate students.

Necessary Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Agribusiness or closely related field
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service
Working knowledge and experience in crop and livestock industries
Academic or industry experience beyond the Ph.D. is preferred
Commitment to an interdisciplinary team approach to education and research
Interpersonal skills, and desire to establish working relationships with external constituents in the allied agriculture industries
Demonstrated experience in securing external funding and scholarly publication

The successful candidate will develop a research program that explores carnivore movement ecology, predator-prey dynamics, and habitat use across desert landscapes. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the ecological roles of carnivores in arid environments, interactions with prey populations, and responses to land management practices. Experience with GPS collar data, remote sensing, and advanced spatial/statistical analysis is highly desirable. The successful applicant will collaborate with private landowners, state and federal agencies, and other BRI.

The report contains information regarding campus safety and security including topics such as: campus law enforcement authority; crime reporting policies; campus alerts (Timely Warnings and Emergency Notifications); fire safety policies and procedures; programs to prevent dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking; the procedures the University will follow when one of these crimes is reported; and other matters of importance related to security on campus. The report also contains information about crime statistics for the three most recent calendar years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus; in On-Campus Student Housing Facilities; in Non-campus buildings or property owned or controlled by the University or a recognized student organization; and on public property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from, the campus. The report also contains fire statistics for any fires occurring in an On-Campus Student Housing Facility during the three most recent calendar years.

Sul Ross State University Alpine Campus is in the Scenic Davis Mountains of West Texas, is a member of the Texas State University System, is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees, and has an enrollment of approximately 2,000 students of campus in Alpine, Texas. All RGC students hold an Associate degree from an accredited institution or they have completed 42 semester credit hours of transferrable work.
