The LVN/LPT is primarily responsible for providing direct patient care services. The LVN I or the LPT I functions as the nursing liaison between the rest of the department staff and the patient by interacting with the patient on a daily basis and providing nursing care and services as needed and as directed by the Charge Nurse or the Director of Nursing. Nurses shall have the ability to assess, treat, and appropriately interact and care for individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
This position requires providing service to one or more age populations including adolescents and geriatric patients in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Tarzana Treatment Centers, Inc. (TTC). It is expected that the employee demonstrates behavior consistent with the agency's core values. CATEGORIES OF DUTIES
1. Plans and delivers nursing assessments and interventions, related medication, and psychiatric diagnoses of the patient.
2. Administers medications per the treating provider orders, assesses effectiveness, and monitors side effects.

13.Able to recognize the signs and symptoms of exacerbation of SUD withdrawal and or Behavior Health issues and be able to accurately respond and report. Or able to learn the above within the probation period to safely participate in patient care needs.
14.Models professionalism and ethical behavior at all times.
15.Reports to work timely and follows attendance guidelines.
16.Performs other job-related functions as may be assigned by the Director of Nursing or Charge Nurse.
17.Administers waived tests (urine, pregnancy, blood glucose test, breath alcohol, UA Drug Screen, Hemoglobin and Covid/Flu) and maintains annual waived testing requirements/trainings.
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
• Graduate of an accredited LVN or LPT school or college and licensed to practice in California.
• Two (2) years recent acute care experience preferred.
• A Behavioral/Chemical Dependency Setting- required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The Misdemeanor Incompetent to Stand Trial (MIST) Program serves defendants in Los Angeles that are facing misdemeanor charges and found incompetent to stand trial. This population is often chronically homeless with severe mental health disorders and, without alternative resources must remain in the County Jail, until their maximum sentence is served or are restored to competency. The Los Angeles' Health Agency's Office of Diversion and Reentry (ODR) has addressed the needs of this population through a diversion program that places them in residential community settings. Program participants are under an active Court order and required to remain medication compliant while in residence. Upon successful program completion, misdemeanor charges are dropped, and program participants are transitioned into permanent supportive housing. This particular HealthRIGHT360 (HR360) MIST facility is home to 19 male clients in a private, residential setting, that work with a multidisciplinary team comprised of: a Director, Clinical Supervisor, Mental Health Clinician, Case Managers, Nurse, Psychiatrist, Facility Monitors, and a Housing Manager. The LVN contributes to the HR360 multi-disciplinary team by supporting the clients with their medical needs.
The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) reports directly to the Clinical Supervisor and works to maintain and support the medical needs of the clients. As part of the clinical team, the LVN will provide compassionate, client-centered clinical services to the clients while assessing and assisting with their medical treatment and services. The LVN will assist throughout the various stages of treatment including initial assessments and health screenings of medical needs, coordinating with different medical providers in the community, overseeing all medication monitoring and documentation related to medication, and discharge planning as it relates to knowing understanding when to take prescribed medications. Prototypes, a program of HealthRIGHT 360's residential substance use disorder (SUD) program is a new program contracted with Department of Public Health's (DPH) Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) program for residential drug Medi-Cal (DMC) services for up to 99 adult men and women: 33 that are for men who are judicially involved, 33 for men, and 33 for women. The residential DMC program will employ 100 people and works closely with the other Behavioral health center programs to provide a continuum of services for low income/Medi-Cal population. The program is located on the campus of Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital in the Willowbrook area of South Los Angeles and will serve all LA County residents.
Responsible in assisting Nursing Supervisor, Nurse Practitioners, and program Directors in the following area: medication management and education, delegate duties/tasks to Nurses, chart audits and supports daily operations of residential treatment center. Utilize medical expertise to provide services and support as part of a treatment team and assist clients in their recovery. Responsible for providing medication management services to consumers receiving services at residential treatment center. The LVN works in collaboration with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure best possible treatment outcome for the client and provide treatment in accordance with HealthRIGHT 360's philosophy, goals, policies, mission and vision.
