Accountant Background Profile:

Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and advanced formulas
Experience calculating and reporting on commissions and incentive pay
Thorough understanding of GAAP and standard accounting practices
Self-starter with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills

Our life insurance client is seeking a Senior GAAP accountant to join their team. This role is on-site, in Dallas, Texas
Responsibilities:
Perform monthly and quarterly closing processes, including preparing and posting journal entries for insurance and investment activities.
Prepare or review bank account, general ledger account, and par-value reconciliations.
Act as a liaison to investment management teams, custodians, and investment software vendors, as needed.
Handle back-office duties for the trading desk, including communication with multiple brokers and state banks, as needed.
Create monthly financial reports regarding insurance or investment activity, as needed.
Prepare schedules and exhibits for quarterly and annual statutory statements, including but not limited to IMR/AVR, Schedule D, BA, and DB.
Assist in the preparation of audited statutory financial statements, including footnotes.
Support other regulatory reporting requirements, including MD&A, Risk-Based Capital, AmBest, and SRQ filings.
Respond to or assist with requests from external auditors, rating agencies, and regulatory bodies.
Prepare and/or assist with state regulatory filings, if required.
Identify and recommend continuous process improvements
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
6+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, with 3+ years in a Life Insurance company desired, but not required.
Experience in preparing bank and general ledger account reconciliations, journal entries, and quarterly and annual financial closings.
Understanding of USGAAP.
General understanding of investments, including real estate and mortgage loans.
Excellent personal computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Excel proficiency is a plus.
Knowledge of General Ledger Systems and Regulatory Filing Systems, or other insurance-specific financial applications experience is a plus.
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Good organizational and referencing skills related to work papers, financial statements, and schedules prepared.
Experience with SRQ and AmBest preparation is a plus, but not required
Pay Range:
The anticipated pay range for this position is starting at 75K per year, based on experience

Summary:
This position will be responsible for performing various fixed asset accounting responsibilities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Review Authorization Request (AR) to validate that the project meets the requirements to be treated as a capital expenditure.
* Monitor and review Construction in Process (CIP) and work closely with field personnel to ensure timely in service dates with proper useful lives and asset classifications.
* Collaborate with field personnel to ensure the accuracy of charges and timeliness of closure and fixed asset unitization.
* Maintain fixed asset records including additions, retirements, transfers and depreciation for multiple companies with multiple ledgers covering GAAP, Regulatory and Tax.
* Perform roll forward, variance analysis, reporting and other close out tasks.
* Perform ongoing reporting and analysis, including monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting of capital expenditures.
* Support quarterly financial and SOX audits.
* For regulatory companies, support regulatory reporting, rate case and audit inquiries.
* Perform any other duties assigned by management which might include special projects.

The position of Senior Income Tax Accountant will be based out of our Dallas, TX location!
Summary
The Senior Income Tax Accountant is responsible for US federal and multistate income tax compliance and financial reporting of income taxes under IFRS. Core responsibilities are to ensure the accuracy and quality of income tax reporting for external purposes, effectively utilize both internal and external resources to prepare and ensure the company timely files its income tax returns, and that the income tax accounts are reasonable and accurate.
What You'll Do
* Ensure the US federal and state income tax returns, Forms 8300, the FinCen 114 report, Forms 1042 and other necessary forms are timely prepared, supported, and filed, with effective utilization of both internal personnel, as well as external co-sourcing providers
* Ensure the timely calculation and payment of estimated income taxes to minimize penalty exposure, as well as all other tax payments due with required income tax filings
* Ensure the tax calendar is maintained so that the Company is in compliance with all income tax filing deadlines
* Assist with preparation of the IFRS consolidated income tax provision, including ETR analysis, current and deferred taxes, substantiation for all deferred tax positions, income tax payable proof and variance analysis for all annual income tax provisions
* Ensure the financial statement income tax accounts are maintained, including proper record keeping, calculation of monthly tax provisions and maintenance of income tax accounting records for the Company and its US subsidiaries
* Assist with preparation of the Company's tax provision and related footnote disclosures required for statutory audited financial statements
* Assist with responses to all income tax correspondence received from taxing authorities and that all tax assessments are appropriate, and challenge or protest such assessments as necessary
* Provide assistance with all governmental income tax audits, including the gathering of information requested and where appropriate assist in the defense of income tax positions taken by the Company
* Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the income tax discipline within the scope of the Tax department budget, including utilization of external consultants
* Propose process improvements to simplify complex processes and procedures, including with the use of technology
* Work with cross-functional teams, including Accounting, Treasury, Finance, Legal, HR, Real Estate, and Indirect Tax
* Other duties as assigned

The Senior Indirect Tax Accountant plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with state and local indirect tax laws. This role primarily focuses on controversy, compliance, tax accounting, and also contributes to tax research and special projects related to Indirect Tax. Responsibilities:

Support indirect tax audits by gathering and reviewing requested information, helping defend the Company's tax positions, and preparing responses to taxing authorities.
Prepare and review reconciliations of indirect tax financial statement accounts and assist with tax accounting as needed.
Contribute to the implementation of special indirect tax projects, involving internal research and analysis on various indirect tax issues.
Collaborate effectively with external indirect tax service providers and auditors.
Work closely with internal departments such as accounting, IT, and legal to ensure a unified approach to indirect tax matters.
Assist in developing and implementing indirect tax processes and procedures.
Contribute to the creation of training materials for key functions within the business.
Review and optimize ERP processes and data extraction reports for indirect tax purposes.
Review tax assessments and, when appropriate, assist in challenging and protesting these assessments.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Education/License/Registration/Certification:
Bachelor's degree is required.
Certified Member of the Institute (CMI) or Master's degree in Taxation is preferred.

We are seeking an experienced Fixed Asset Accountant to lead our Fixed Asset Accounting team. We are looking for a detail-oriented, team player with the ability to manage multiple tasks and produce quality work. Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:
Duties and Responsibilities
* Record, maintain, and report on all fixed assets including rental, company use, and intangible assets.
* Track work-in-progress and ensure timely and accurate transitions to assets in service.
* Partner with Fleet team to forecast 24 months of capital expenditures.
* Assist with fixed asset audits and physical inventories.
* Partner with Real Estate team to forecast, track and retire leasehold improvements.
* Research fixed asset accounting issues to ensure compliance with GAAP.
* Ensure compliance with company capital asset policy.
* Prepare fixed asset account reconciliations on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis.
* Assist in reporting and analysis of rental fleet margins.
* Report timely and accurate information to company leadership and tax team.
* Demonstrate in depth knowledge of accounting principles relating to assets and depreciation.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize accounting processes and support business growth.
* Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedure, and internal controls.
* Assist with the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
* Assist in preparing consolidation and audit information at quarter- and year-end.
