position at Aqua-Chem will report to the Accounting Manager and perform accounting, reporting, analytical, decision making, and data gathering functions.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm

Pay Range: Dependent on Experience | $55,000 - $80,000/yr

Essential Duties:
Maintain and update financial records completely and accurately, including the trial balance, general ledger, and financial reporting processes.
Analyze project level accounting records for projects ranging from $200K - $5M. Review monthly project accounting using percentage of completion accounting methodology.
Interface with project managers on project status, actual to budget cost reconciliations.
Ensure project progress billings are issued timely in accordance with contractual agreements.
Prepare reports, record journal entries, reconcile accounts, and perform month-end close activities.
Prepare and send customer invoices, including input into customer billing systems.
Review, submit, and record payrolls and payroll-related activities.
Assist with monthly revenue recognition, project cost accounting and POC revenue calculations.
Assist with preparation of the annual budget, rolling financial forecast, and monthly cash flow forecast.
Work closely with external auditors, tax accountants, and Parent and affiliated companies.
Gather financial data and perform ad hoc research and analysis as requested.
Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Education/Experience:
B.S. In Accounting
Two - Four (2 - 4) years of Accounting/Finance experience in a manufacturing company/environment preferred.
Experience with journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting preferred but not required
Experience with ERP systems preferred.
Requirements:
Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, e.g., lookups, pivot tables, etc.

OBJECTIVE: In fulfilling the Firm's mission, the Tax Senior Accountant performs the day-to-day tax and advisory services while working as a business advisory liaison with clients. Additionally, the Tax Senior Accountant handles tax engagements through reviewing client data, understanding legislative updates and preparing client tax returns. The Senior Accountant supports the Firm's goals and values through all professional communications and strong working relationships.
RESPONSIBILITIES
ENGAGEMENT
Works on various tax returns (individuals, trusts, partnerships, and corporations) under a direct supervisor/designee (depending on the size of the engagement, the supervisor could be a Senior Accountant, Manager or Officer).
Prepares tax returns and client data following the Firm policies and procedures.
Reviews accounting data and financial statements working within budgets guidelines.
Brings unusual/significant accounting and tax implications/questions to the supervisor.
Becomes familiar with the Firm's policies, procedures, manuals, forms, and relevant software.
Assists other team members with client management such as gathering related data and research of tax, problems, recommendations for business and process improvement.
Continuous learner that develops job knowledge of client operations, processes, and business objectives as well as state and federal tax issues.
May be responsible for supervising and training less experienced Staff Accountants and/or accepting increasing levels of responsibility.
Acts as a mentor to entry level Staff Accountants on an informal basis.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's in Accounting or equivalent required.
Typically, 2+ years professional experience in public accounting.
Actively pursuing CPA license, or currently possess active CPA license.
Proficient in use of computers and basic software applications.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Successful problem-solving and analytical skills.

Job Description
The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day execution of general ledger impacted processes.
He/she performs accounting functions in some / all of the following areas: account balancing, ledger reconciliation, internal and external financial reporting, discrepancy resolution, assistance with the budget and forecasting process, assistance with period close, journal entry processing.
