## **Job Summary**
This intermediate level position analyzes and interprets tax regulations and prepares required tax reports performed in accordance with current legislation in order to meet the company's tax obligations and objectives\.

The Billing Accountant is responsible for Billing Accountant II works on more complex invoices involving multiple queries, calculations, and reconciliations. Creates Medicaid invoices and work with Oklahoma Health Care Authority. Ensures contract requirements are met, and all expenses are invoiced through reconciliations. They also work on Medical Billing claims sent by mail and Newborn Screening invoices.
Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
* Create complex invoices involving multiple queries and calculations; ensure contract requirements are met; reconcile contracts quarterly and at contract close to ensure all expenses are billed.
* Records IDC for assigned contracts and ensure IDC limits are not exceeded. Works with Accountants to create Indirect Cost (IDC) invoices. Gathers IDC from Billing to create Contract IDC invoices.
* Work with programs to ensure all documentation for invoices is received; post on billable contract tracker; track to ensure payment; and work with vendors on unpaid invoices.
* Review Unclaimed Deposit list from the Treasury and notify Billing Manager when we have unclaimed moneys more than 2-week-old.
* Create Medicaid invoices; Liaise with OHCA on Medicaid invoices; ensure all Medicaid contract requirements are met; and update Medicaid rates as needed.
* Verify draws were accurately drawn on correct accounts/subaccounts; notify Collections to begin draw receipt process; and track to ensure funds are deposited on the correct funding.
* Collects Medical Billing payments sent by mail from private insurance companies, Managed Care Organizations, Medicaid and Medicare; send payments to Collections to be receipted; and ensure EOBs are sent to OSDH Medical Billing.
* Maintain Billing Charts; Record receipts for payments in ORBS
* Cross trains with other billing accountants and serve as a backup.

Works directly with other accountants and under the supervision of the Accounting Supervisor, the Accounting Manager, and/or the VP of Accounting on specific tasks and projects.
Asks questions, learns the Martindale standards and documentation techniques, and understands the accounting cycle.
Successfully builds and understands Excel analysis schedules.
Communicates efficiently and often.
Write professional emails, requests for information, and client memos.
Uses logical reasoning.
Seeks to understand, learn, and apply oil and gas terms, operations for specific assets, state laws and regulations, and accounting guidelines and procedures.
Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and adjust their work schedule to meet internal or client deadlines.

Provides back-up support for individual team members as needed.
Works with the accounting team to create an exceptional client experience through high quality support and communication.

Works on an array of tasks including but not limited to journal entries, JIB input and processing, monthly revenue remittances, payments, and processing, and payroll, tax, and benefit transactions.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience.
Tech savvy and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Willingness to travel on occasion.
