Responsibilities

SELECTION AND APPOINTMENT: A selection committee will evaluate the qualifications of each applicant which will include recentness and appropriateness of the applicant's education and experience, answers to the supplemental questions, results of employment references investigated and any other appropriate information available.
The selection committee will admit to the interview only those persons who possess the most job-related qualifications and may establish admittance criteria beyond the minimum qualifications stated above. The interview will comprise 100% of the applicant's earned grade. A candidate must earn a qualifying grade of 70 or more on the interview to be eligible for appointment. POSITION SUMMARY
St. Charles Community College is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our Finance Department. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, reconciliations, and assisting with budgeting processes. The staff accountant will also serve as a backup for accounts payable and accounts receivable functions to ensure continuity of operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and account reconciliations.
* Prepare balance sheets, bank reconciliations, and other financial reports.
* Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of internal controls related to financial processes.
* Ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions in compliance with GASB and college policies.
* Support budget preparation, monitoring, and variance analysis for assigned funds or departments.
* Assist with grant accounting, restricted funds, and compliance with grant and donor requirements.
