The Fixed Asset Accountant reports to the Director of Corporate Accounting. The Fixed Asset Accountant is a key role in the organization and works closely with the engineering and IT teams to properly account for and track fixed assets and capital expenditures projects (CAPEX). The position also collaborates with accounts payable, field locations, corporate accounting, forecasting, planning, and analysis teams to manage and account for fixed assets and ASC 842 lease accounting, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and company policies.

Job Responsibilities
Manage the lifecycle of fixed assets from acquisition to disposal
Maintain the fixed asset ledger by location in Oracle, including additions, retirements and depreciation
Monitor purchase orders in Oracle and match invoices submitted to the proper project

Ensuring the accuracy of fixed asset subledgers and their reconciliation with the general ledger

Provide necessary documentation and analysis to support external annual audits of fixed assets and ASC 842 Lease Accounting
Draft fixed asset and ASC 842 footnote disclosures for the year-end audit
Track and analyze capital expenditures for budgeting and forecasting for financial planning
Prepare and record journal entries, prepare balance sheet reconciliations, analyze information for fixed assets, capex and ASC 842, and other special projects as assigned
Prepare relevant capex and ASC 842 board slides, quarterly analysis, and ad hoc analysis
Manage regular meetings with the engineering and IT teams to obtain the proper information needed to perform the responsibilities of this position
Provide relevant information to the tax consultant for proper tax reporting
Generate monthly financial reports and reconciliations accurately and timely manner
Work with engineering to close out projects upon completion and identify asset(s) and their associated costs to be transferred from CIP (Construction-In-Process) to Fixed Assets
Identify and calculate the value of assets with the assistance of engineering for acquisitions
Month-end procedures and reporting requirements related to fixed assets and capitalized costs, including the generation of reports and the preparation and posting of journal entries
Ad hoc reporting and analysis as required
Minimum Qualifications/Attributes:
Bachelor's degree in accounting required
Minimum of 5+ years of experience in fixed assets & ASC 842 lease accounting required
Thorough understanding and application of ASC 842 accounting for leases
Experience with LeaseHarbor software or similar software is required
Proficiency in Oracle is a plus
Proficient in US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP)
Proficient in Microsoft Office and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including VLOOKUPS, SUMIFS, and Pivot tables.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate details of financial information

Successful candidates will have:
Associate's degree in accounting, finance, business, economics, or related math degree required

Work Schedule:

Working alongside other interns and recent college graduates

Responsibilities
Assist with the preparation of federal and state tax returns and extensions for a variety of Partnerships, S corporations and C corporations
Gather data as needed to respond to notices
Assist with K-1 preparation and distribution
Conduct tax research to apply relevant tax laws in jurisdictions where the company operates
Maintain organized tax files and tracking of tax return due dates for over 400 entities
Prepare elections as needed
Review entity organization documents to determine filing requirements and set up initial tax returns for newly created entities
Assist the finance department with posting journal entries and performing reconciliations on an as needed basis

Qualifications
Candidates must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong mathematical and accounting skills are required
They should be professional, motivated, highly organized and able to work well alone or with a team
They should be able to follow instructions and be adept at general office skills such as typing and filing
Working knowledge of MS Excel and Word required
Knowledge of Realpage & Lacerte tax software not required but useful
Ability to work a minimum of 35 hours per week for the duration of the internship program.

About The Team
Kreischer Miller continues to prosper and grow! With approximately 250 team members located in Horsham, PA, we are currently seeking busy season (January-April) interns for 2027.
Our Busy Season Internships run from early January to early April and are full time and in person. Any hours worked during a work week in excess of 40 hours will be paid at a rate of time and a half. Due to the nature of the work associated with this department, it is not uncommon for there to be overtime in the evenings and/or on weekends. It is our understanding that no classes will be taken during this timeframe, without prior authorization from Kreischer Miller.
Our Interns are given a wide variety of diversified assignments under the supervision of talented CPA's. At Kreischer Miller, you will have the opportunity to work with business owners in a variety of industries and learn directly from leaders in our firm. An Audit & Accounting Intern may perform the following duties:
Learn and apply the basics of the daily technology used in our Audit and Accounting department.
Assist Staff and Senior Accountants with tasks such as mailing client confirmations, updating internal control forms, preparing depreciation schedules using our software.
Prepare basic work papers in excel to test client accounts such as cash, prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and fixed assets.
Support Senior Accountants, Managers, and Directors on our Audit & Accounting Team.
A Tax Intern may perform the following duties:
Learn and apply the basics of the daily technology used in our Tax department.
Prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and/or trusts.
Prepare tax work papers in excel; use Adobe to "mark up" client workpapers.
Support Senior Accountants, Managers, and Directors on our Tax Team.
