The Payroll Tax Specialist is responsible for providing support and compliance with the organization's payroll processing. This includes managing tax filings, supporting audits, and monitoring compliance of practices with federal, state, and local regulations. Duties & Responsibilities:
* Register and maintain payroll tax accounts across various jurisdictions while keeping compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
* Prepare, review, and file periodic payroll tax returns (i.e., 941, 940, W2s)
* Reconcile tax liabilities and ensure timely remittance of payroll taxes
* Resolve discrepancies with taxing authorities and internal stakeholders
* Generate regular compliance reports and ensure organized and accurate payroll tax records are maintained
* Conduct internal reviews of payroll tax accounts to identify and resolve discrepancies proactively
