A Typical Day The Corporate Tax Manager directs tax compliance with tax regulations and mandated laws in an accurate and timely fashion.
As the Manager, you will coordinate responses to information requests from external tax preparers and tax auditors.
The Corporate Tax Manager will: Prepare and/ or review federal and state tax returns (or supporting work papers for external preparers), including estimates and extensions Manage the computation and review of the company's consolidated income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, including the effective tax rate (ETR), current tax payable, and deferred tax balances Work with Accounting, FAV, HR and others to obtain the information for MSR, REMIC and loan tax computations, apportionment, state tax adjustments and other information needed for returns or provisions Assist with federal & state income tax audits and notices, including response to IDRs, analysis of proposed adjustments, and refund claims and resolution of notices Perform other related duties as required and assigned Demonstrate behaviors which are aligned with the organization's desired culture and values What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA, Masters in Tax or Tax attorney, is a plus 7+ years of public accounting or corporate tax experience within the mortgage industry Strong experience in corporate income tax return preparation in a multi-state environment Strong experience with ASC 740, SOX, and SEC reporting Knowledge and experience with corporate tax strategies, contracts and compliance Excellent tax software skills and Microsoft Office computer skills, including Excel & Word Why You Should Join As one of the top mortgage lenders in the country, Pennymac has helped over 4 million lifetime homeowners achieve and sustain their aspirations of home.
