This position will work closely with the US Payroll Tax Analyst to identify and resolve a wide range of tax issues. Successful candidate will use skills and knowledge of United States Payroll Taxes with understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolve a wide range of issues in an innovative and practical way as it relates to payroll taxes, i.e., federal, state, local and other tax liabilities. Works with approximately over 80 EINs and 50 states in a high acquisition business that is continually adding new entities.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Validate US Federal, State and Local wages and taxes from the available payroll and tax reports. Must have a thorough understanding of US taxable wage bases and tax limits in a large variety of jurisdictions.
Manage incoming payroll tax mail electronically with a high level of organization. A successful candidate will have a keen eye for details and the ability to prioritize in a high-volume environment.
Works with US Payroll Team to identify and correct any discrepancies prior to next quarter close. This includes identifying tax fallout and assisting with registering the appropriate business in the applicable jurisdictions.
Logging and researching Tax Fallouts from payroll processing.
Responsible for registering for new tax accounts with applicable jurisdictions, including life cycle of POAs as needed within the organization and with the TPA.
Assist with preparing payroll tax funding - daily, weekly, quarterly, semiannual and annual.
Research, reconcile and log tax issues and/or questions immediately to ensure speedy resolution. Assist with research by pulling necessary reports from multiple systems.
Manually complete and submit tax returns not processed by payroll vendor accurately and timely.
Prepares several monthly reports needed by Finance and third-party administrators.
Submit for tax credits as needed.
Work closely with the US Payroll Manager and US Payroll Tax Analyst in the process planning and documentation for the US Payroll Tax Standard Operating Procedures.

Responsibilities of a Tax Senior Accountant
Prepare complex tax returns effectively and efficiently with minimum supervision
Calculate quarterly tax estimate and annual extension payments
Coordinate tax strategies and tax planning while providing tax compliance and tax advisory services
Prepare responses to inquiries from regulatory agencies and assist with tax examinations
Perform tax research, prepare tax research memos and analyze tax research to draw reasonable conclusions
