    The Tax Associate will work closely with the outside tax preparer, EY, in the preparation of fiduciary tax returns for all accounts of Tiedemann Trust Company. and work to advise the Fiduciary Counsel, Trust Officers/Administrators to assure that all tax matters for fiduciary accounts are attended to in a timely manner. Job Responsibilities · Review prior years' tax returns for all new trust accounts to identify any tax issues to be addressed, including whether any would cause Tiedemann Trust Company to refuse appointment as trustee · Advise the members of the Trust team on income tax issues of all fiduciary accounts that Tiedemann Trust Company is an appointed Trustee or Executor · Assist the Trust team in analyzing income tax consequences of distributions and/or investments in all fiduciary accounts · Responsible for working closely with EY in completing all fiduciary tax returns; • Provide EY with all necessary tax information for all fiduciary accounts, interfacing with the advisor team as necessary • Review the returns for accuracy when completed by EY • Make all quarterly and annual fiduciary tax payments as required, assuring accurately tracking that all tax returns have been filed · Responsible for annually tracking tax documents and refunds · Advise and assist on 1099 forms and other tax form issues · Responsible for research on various tax matters · Work with Client Service and Operations Teams to acquire annual tax documents Qualifications · Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or finance preferred · 5+ years of experience in the trust industry, preferably with a concentration on income tax compliance · Experience preparing individual tax returns and estimates · Strong verbal and written communication skills · Must have organizational and analytical skills · Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint · Ability to work independently on tasks and projects · Exposure with Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients preferred · Preferred experience preparing fiduciary tax returns
