OPPORTUNITY
The Bahnsen Group (TBG) is seeking an Intern to join their growing Tax Department. The role is a part-time, in-office position in our Newport Beach, CA office. The TBG Tax Department was launched in 2023 and has quickly grown to serve over 300 client households. Our goal is to provide an elite experience across all our services, including a distinct, high-touch tax experience. TBG CPAs intentionally maintain a lower-than-industry-average volume of tax returns to ensure a proactive and intimate client experience. Interns will assist with tax preparation, research, and client service initiatives, contributing to TBG's differentiated, low- volume approach that emphasizes proactive and personalized client engagement. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, eager to learn, and pursuing a career in taxation.
RESPONSIBILTIES
Onboard new tax clients and reconcile prior-year client list
Assist in preparing individual and business tax returns by downloading brokerage statements, creating work papers, ect.
Contact state tax authorities (e.g. Franchise Tax Board) regarding client matter
Organize, scan, and review client documentation and financial data
Support the Tax Department with tax administration duties
Participate in client service initiatives and internal projects
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum GPA of 3.0 in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or Economics
Self-starter with initiative to seek out opportunities in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented, possess excellent time management and prioritization skills
