The Tax Department is responsible for both direct and indirect tax compliance of multiple entities including but not limited to, income tax, sales & use tax, property taxes, account reconciliations and multiple business licensing. This position is primarily responsible for assisting other indirect Seniors with various indirect tasks, including but not limited to sales tax reporting, sales tax compliance, property tax reporting, and property tax compliance. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accurate and timely completion of sales tax reporting and compliance as needed

LHH is working with our client a manufacturing company in their search for a contract Cost Accountant to take ownership of its cost accounting process. This position will sit onsite in on the east side of Cleveland, OH and will focus on establishing procedures, implementing systems, and creating structure for accurate costing across a large inventory base. Position Overview
We are looking for a Full-time Tax Senior with 2 to 6 years of experience in tax preparation and planning. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in tax law, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review complex federal and state income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
Conduct thorough research on tax issues and provide well-reasoned solutions to clients
Identify tax-saving opportunities and develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities for clients
Assist in the preparation of estimated tax payments and extensions
Review and analyze financial statements and tax documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with tax laws
Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and explain tax implications of various scenarios
Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations through continuous education and research
Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members
Collaborate with managers and partners on complex tax projects and client engagements
Participate in client meetings and presentations as needed
Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies
Contribute to the firm's thought leadership by writing articles or presenting on tax topics
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards
Utilize tax software and other technology tools effectively to streamline processes and improve efficiency
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree in Taxation preferred)
2 to 6 years of experience in tax preparation and planning
CPA certification required (or actively pursuing)
Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations
Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., CCH ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or similar)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
Preferred Skills
Experience with tax research tools such as CCH IntelliConnect or RIA Checkpoint
Knowledge of international tax issues and multi-state taxation
