About the Role
The Group Tax team of Springer Nature is looking for a Tax Associate on a full-time basis. You will be part of the US tax team, comprising of 2 employees, as well as closely cooperate with the tax team in Berlin, Germany, comprising of 18 employees. The role will cover the US, Canada, and countries in South America.
As a Tax Associate, you will be responsible for tax data and tax compliance process quality (including organizing documentation) and be part of the ongoing tax transformation and optimization initiatives within Springer Nature. You will manage indirect tax and withholding tax compliance for, amongst others, the US and Canada, support tax audits, and answer tax-related questions from other departments. Responsibilities
Strengthen system-driven tax data and tax compliance process quality (including organizing documentation).
Support tax-relevant transformation and change processes (e.g., ERP modernization projects, tax determination/compliance tool optimization, automation of manual tax-related processes).
Manage sales/use tax, indirect tax, and withholding tax compliance for, amongst others, the US and Canada, i.e., tax return preparation, filing, and timely submission of returns, including tax accounting and tax reconciliation activities for monthly close.
Support tax audits.
