As our practice expands, we are seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Tax Preparer who specializes in fiduciary taxation, including the preparation of Form 1041 and related trust and estate compliance work. This role is part-time and offers flexibility. We are looking for someone who can work approximately 30 hours per week during tax season, and 20 hours per week post tax season.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in fiduciary returns-whether coming from a CPA firm, law firm, or private trust department-to join a collaborative, people-first team. You'll play a key role in supporting our trust and estate clients while contributing to the continued growth of our tax practice.
Summary of Responsibilities
The Trusts & Estates Tax Preparer will prepare and review fiduciary income tax returns (Forms 1041), trust accountings, and related filings. This individual will work closely with firm leadership, attorneys, and clients to ensure accurate compliance and effective tax planning for trusts, estates, and high-net-worth families.
How You Will Contribute
• Prepare fiduciary income tax returns (1041s), gift tax returns (709s), and related schedules
• Review trust documents, wills, K-1s, and financial statements to ensure proper tax treatment
• Assist with estate and trust accountings, distributions, basis tracking, and year-end summaries
• Communicate with attorneys, trustees, executors, and beneficiaries to gather required information
• Provide guidance on trust structures, distribution planning, and fiduciary requirements
• Research trust-related tax issues and stay current with changes in fiduciary tax law
• Maintain detailed workpapers and ensure compliance with IRS and state filing requirements
• Assist with extension filings, e-file management, and deadline monitoring
• Support the tax department during peak season with related compliance needs
• Contribute to internal best practices and process improvements
• Help identify opportunities to enhance client service and expand trust-related engagements
What We Need From You
• 3-5 years of experience preparing fiduciary income tax returns (1041s)
• Experience reviewing or interpreting trust documents, wills, and estate plans
• Strong understanding of fiduciary accounting, distributable net income (DNI), and K-1 allocations
• Experience working with attorneys, trustees, or trust officers strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• CPA or EA is a plus but not required
• Ability to manage multiple trust engagements simultaneously
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
• Familiarity with CCH Axcess, ProSystem, or similar tax software is a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Respond to state tax notices and prepare audit documentation
Assist in special projects or technical research as needed.
Assist with DST filings
Assist with International tax filings and reporting
Assist with quarter-end and YE close, primary support for the compliance process for federal and state income tax, indirect tax function international, and assist with the transfer pricing function if needed. In addition, the Tax Analyst will assist in supporting the tax accounting function and in other tax matters as needed.

Grassi's Tax Department is expanding and looking to hire a busy season tax intern to work with our team and help support the department in a variety of ways. About the role:
Loftware is currently seeking a highly driven Senior Revenue Accountant to support the day-to-day operations of our revenue recognition function. The Senior Revenue Accountant is responsible for managing revenue recognition processes in compliance with ASC 606, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of revenue for a fast-growing software company. This role involves analyzing complex customer contracts, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and supporting audits and system implementations. This role, with the support of the Assistant Controller and VP Global Controller, will work closely with both internal and external business partners for both management reporting and financial reporting. The successful candidate will be excited to gain a thorough understanding of the business, is a self-starter and comfortable with working autonomously, embrace process improvement, support the team in developing meaningful management reporting, and work in a global team to help grow and scale the Company.
Key Role Responsibilities:
Review and analyze customer contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606.
Perform month-end and quarter-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and revenue reporting.
Prepare and maintain revenue-related schedules for GAAP and management financial statements.
Support external audits by providing documentation and explanations for revenue-related matters.
Assist in implementing and enhancing order and accounting systems and processes to increase revenue recognition automation.
Provide guidance on revenue implications for new products, pricing models, and business initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), specifically around SaaS and software revenue recognition and multi-element arrangements.
Minimum of 3-5 years' relevant work experience.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience required.
CPA/MBA/public accounting experience is a plus.
Advanced skills in Excel modeling.
Demonstrated experience with financial systems, including the ability to adapt and implement new systems and applications.
